Steps to allow ActiveSync ports in TrendMicro PC-cillin Internet Security 2005

Use the following steps to allow ActiveSync ports in TrendMicro PC-cillin Internet Security 2005.
  • Start the Trend Micro PC-cillin application.

  • Click on the Network Security tab on the left side and click on Personal Firewall in the main window.

  • Double-click on the Profile where you want to add ActiveSync rules.

  • A profile details window will pop up. Navigate the top panes to Exception List. Click on Add.

  • Create a description as shown here. Make sure the following are set:

    Target = Specified application. Browse to the ActiveSync Application WCESMgr.exe (C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\ if installed in C drive with default settings).
    Connection = Incoming
    Action = Allow
    Protocol = TCP/UDP
    Port(s) = All ports
    Type = All IP Addresses

    Hit OK when done.

  • Back at the Exception List screen, choose to add another application to the exception list.

  • Repeating Step 5, add the following additional applications as shown
    (C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\ if installed in C drive with default settings):
    • Wcescomm.exe

    • Rapimgr.exe

    • CEAPPMgr.exe
      Add/Edit Personal Firewall Exception dialog box

  • Back in the Exception List window, you should verify to see all the applications added are checked.

    Click Add again.

  • In the new Exception screen, make sure you set the following entries as shown:

    Target = All applications
    Connection = Incoming
    Action = Allow
    Protocol = TCP/UDP
    Specified Ports = 26675
    Type = All IP Addresses

    Click OK when done until you reach the main Personal Firewall window.

  • Back at the main screen, click Apply.
