Customize predefined text

To save time when composing a text message, you can insert predefined text by selecting from a list of nine phrases. You can edit these phrases to say exactly what you want, and then save them to use again. Each edited phrase replaces an existing phrase, so that there are never more than nine phrases.

Step 1

Tap Start > Messaging > Text Messages.

Step 2

Tap Menu > New.

Step 3

In the To field, enter the recipient's phone number, or to insert a number from your contacts, tap Menu > Add Recipient, and then select a name.

Step 4

Scroll down to the message area, and then tap Menu > My Text > Edit My Text Messages.

Step 5

Scroll to the predefined text that you want to customize, make your changes in the box at the bottom of the screen, and then tap OK. Your customized text replaces the original text. Your customized text replaces the original text.
