Set up sounds

You can set up sounds on your device and associate them with events. These include incoming calls, reminders, new e-mail messages, new text messages, new voice messages, and warnings. Each event can have a distinctive sound to help you identify the event by its sound.

Step 1

Tap Start, tap Settings, tap the Personal tab, and then tap Sounds & Notifications.

Step 2

On the Sounds tab, select the check box for each type of item for which you want to enable a sound.

Step 3

On the Notifications tab, in Event, tap an event name and select how you want to be notified by selecting the appropriate check boxes.

You can select several options, such as a special sound, a message, a flashing light, or a vibration.

Tips

Turning off sounds and the flashing light helps to conserve battery power.
