How to send a link to your phone
Using the SMS feature available throughout the Windows phone web site, you can send links to your mobile phone. This lets you directly access the free stuff on the site from your phone. Make your phone unique with free ringtones, games, and themes, and find helpful software and extras—enhance your Windows phone so you can do even more on the go.
To send a link to your phone:
Enter your phone number, starting with area code, in the Send a Link to Mobile feature.
Read the Terms of Service, and then click the check box to accept the terms.
Click
Submit
.
Unable to connect to your phone?
If you receive an “unable to connect to device” (or similar) message when you click
Submit
, confirm that you typed the correct phone number. If you didn't, type the correct number, and then click
Submit
again.
Notes
This feature is currently available in the United States only.
If you type the correct number but still receive an "unable to connect to device" message, you may be unable to send text messages directly to your phone. Contact your wireless service provider to determine if your phone is able to receive text messages. As an alternative, try sending an SMS text message to yourself. Note that the size of a text message typically is limited to 160 characters.
Not all mobile phones let you directly access a link in the text message. In this case, you need to manually enter the web address in the browser on your phone.
For help using your mobile browser, see your mobile phone's user manual.
