Setting up e-mail
Mobile e-mail is crucial to keeping you connected while you’re on-the-go. Setting up your work and personal e-mail accounts on your Windows Mobile phone is easy using these helpful tools and tutorials.
Begin by clicking or tapping
Start
. We're showing Windows Mobile 6 for non-touch screen devices (Standard), but the process is nearly identical for touch screen (Professional).
Then select
Messaging
.
Click New E-mail Account to start the setup.
Now enter the address for the account and click Next. You can set up a wide range of e-mail accounts, such as Web-based e-mail or e-mail from your broadband provider. Be sure “Try to get e-mail settings automatically” is checked.
Click
Next
, and the Auto Setup automatically enters your server settings.

: If Auto Setup can’t locate your server settings, you can check your settings and enter them manually following the steps described
here
.
Now enter the name you want to appear when you send messages. If you want to use a different name, you should change it now. Click
Next
.
Auto Setup has already entered your user name. Enter your password and ensure
Save Password
is selected. If you don't select this box, you'll have to enter your password each time you send and receive e-mail. Click
Next
.
If you would like to change your e-mail settings, such as how much e-mail to download, click
Review all download settings
. Otherwise, click
Finish
to start downloading messages. If you have not changed your download settings, you will download e-mail from the past three days. If you clicked
Finish
, skip the next step.
If you choose to
Review all download
settings, you can change the default message format, message size download limit, and whether to allow e-mail attachments to be automatically downloaded.
Your account name appears at the top, making it easy to see which e-mail inbox you’re viewing. You can use your navigator to see inboxes for other e-mail accounts as well.

E-mail Setup Instructions
The wizard will create a set of customized instructions for you to print. Once you’ve done this, go back to your device and select
Start
>
Messaging
. Select the e-mail account you want to fix, and select
Menu
>
Settings
. Then follow your printed instructions and correct the settings as necessary.
