With Virtualization, Newspaper Reduces Costs, Gains Infrastructure Flexibility
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) is the largest newspaper in the Southeast. As the paper's data center server footprint grew, power and cooling capacity problems grew along with it. To alleviate these problems, the AJC implemented the Windows Server® 2008 Enterprise Operating System with Hyper-V™ technology to virtualize its Microsoft and Linux servers. The AJC's servers are now better utilized, and its IT infrastructure can more efficiently accommodate changes. The AJC is also experiencing increased virtualization management capabilities through its implementation of Microsoft® System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008.
