TechNet Webcast: Windows Compare (Part 2 of 6): Supporting Linux Users in a Windows Environment (Level 200)

In this session, we cover a number of topics regarding the interoperability between Windows and Linux. We look at using Kerberos and Active Directory to provide single sign on in a mixed world. This provides the starting point as we move on to cover resource sharing, such as printers and files. We discuss scripts and explore ways to migrate scripts from Linux to Windows. We also explain how to achieve the same results on a Windows system using Windows PowerShell and command-line tools in Windows compared to a Linux system.

Presenter: Keith Combs, TechNet Presenter, Microsoft Corporation

A Texan with "decent intelligence and a good base of experience to draw from," Keith Combs does not mince words. He enjoys working with both software and hardware, and he thrives on helping customers solve thorny problems. The world has come to rely on e-mail, Web servers, and file servers, and Keith loves showing people how to make the most out of these essential and emerging products. His greatest challenge? Keeping up with the lightning pace of innovation, technology, and information overload—no kidding! If he ever abandoned the server room for good, Keith would become your favorite driving range target, ducking golf balls in the cage tractor.
