(4) With the Hyper-V Role installed up to 32 GB of RAM is supported by the operating system. The sum of the memory assigned to VMs cannot exceed the system's physical RAM.
(5) With the Hyper-V Role installed up to 1TB of RAM is supported by the operating system. Each virtual machine can address up to 64 GB. The sum of the memory assigned to VMs cannot exceed the system's physical RAM.
* With the Hyper-V role installed up to 24 logical processors, and 192 Virtual Machines are supported by the operating system on the physical server. A logical processor is a unit that executes computing tasks. As an example, a server with 2 dual-core processors that feature hyper-threading technology will appear to the operating system as having 8 logical processors. Deactivating HT in the system BIOS, if supported, would result in the operating system using 4 logical processors—both cores on both physical processors.
** Hyper-V is not available for Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-Based Systems.
