Network Access Protection

Feature included in all editions (except WS 2008 for Itanium Based Systems and Windows Web Server 2008) of Windows Server 2008.

Covered by server license*. No incremental licensing requirements.

AD Rights Management Services

Feature included in all editions (except WS 2008 for Itanium Based Systems and Windows Web Server 2008) of Windows Server 2008.

Covered by server license*, but incremental RMS CALs required, similar to Terminal Services.

Terminal Services

Feature included in all editions (except WS 2008 for Itanium Based Systems and Windows Web Server 2008) of Windows Server 2008.

Covered by server license*, but incremental TS CALs required, similar to AD Rights Management Services.

* The phrase "covered by server license" does not negate the requirement of Windows CALs in order to access or use the server software.
