AIM HEALTH CARE
Tieliikelaitos is a subsidiary of Finland's Ministry of Transport and Communications and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the country's traffic network. This public sector organization had struggled for weeks to determine what was causing one of its Microsoft SQL databases to respond so slowly. Within one day of the VERITAS (now Symantec) Application Performance Management (APM) team having installed VERITAS Indepth for Microsoft SQL Server, CPU usage on the database server dropped from almost 100 percent to 5 percent. Users were instantly more productive and costly server upgrade was avoided.

Care Group
With more than 240 concurrent CareWeb users at any time of the day or night, 24/7 system availability is essential. In order to avoid system outages, CareGroup began investigating Application Performance Management (APM) solutions to help maximize performance of its business-critical CareWeb application.

After reviewing technology options from several vendors, CareGroup selected VERITAS i3, including VERITAS Insight, VERITAS Indepth, and VERITAS Inform, as the basis for addressing performance management issues related to CareWeb, PatientSite, and other clinical database-driven systems.

"A long-time VERITAS customer, we knew VERITAS would deliver an effective APM solution to ensure that our IT infrastructure can withstand user demands and sustain growth," says Ayad Shammout, Senior Database Administrator and Analyst at CareGroup.
