Targeting greatest value: Given Capgemini's long experience with the Sidmar business processes, it is able to work with Sidmar to target the areas where the new features of BizTalk Server 2006 will be of greatest benefit.
Mitigation of risks: As a trusted partner of Microsoft, Capgemini has early access to Microsoft technology and can advise customers knowledgeably about the best usages of the new technology in the specific situation. Optimization of organizational capabilities: The teamwork involved with participation in the Microsoft TAP Program allows the strengths of all three organizations to be optimized; Sidmar has deep knowledge of its business processes, Capgemini has years of experience integrating emerging technologies, and Microsoft provides industry-leading, .NET-based server products. Organizational alignment: Working together as a team enables all three organizations to understand the strengths of their partners and utilize these strengths to build a deeply integrated solution. Sidmar Belgium Capgemini, a leader in the business intelligence space, plans to implement Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 as an add-on module as part of the second phase of work for the client's recently deployed and successful supply chain management system, known as Control Tower.
The current Control Tower system, developed by Capgemini, enables end-to-end visibility of the services value chain from the initial customer contact to defective return and disposition. Control Tower provides a single interface into various legacy systems to provide a one stop-only view of all the different activities across the entire supply chain and logistics process. Furthermore, Control Tower ties together customer cases and claims with the relevant part and service orders, returns, and test results, providing a much more synchronized view of the firm's day-to-day business processes. The first release of Control Tower also includes a handful of reporting functions and KPI (key performance indicators) scorecards. The second version of Control Tower will greatly expand on this reporting infrastructure by leveraging the Business Scorecard Manager 2005 product. The Control Tower project will use the Business Scorecard Manager 2005 toolset to quickly configure and deploy an entire array of scorecards to monitor the firm's supply chain. Business Scorecard Manager 2005 provides a distinct advantage over current business intelligence solutions which rely heavily upon custom development to create scorecard functionality. Though its rich feature set and out-of-the-box integration with various Microsoft tools, Business Scorecard Manager 2005 will enable Control Tower developers to focus on the reporting data and KPI definitions rather than on mundane development tasks. Additionally, the ease of use and deployment of Business Scorecard Manager 2005 will allow business leaders to have quick access to new and different reports and KPI as circumstances change. By implementing Business Scorecard Manager 2005, Control Tower will not only supply quick access to vital corporate data, but it will be a more configurable tool as well, being able to quickly adapt to new business needs. By building on the success of the Scorecards Accelerator 1.0, Business Scorecard Manager 2005 promises to deliver a more nimble product able to solve the current and future business reporting needs for Capgemini's client's supply chain process. The tight partnership with Capgemini and Microsoft via the TAP program will only enhance this success and set the stage for an exciting future for the client to be a leader in the next generation of business intelligence tools.
