Product Overview

ProClarity provides unique tools that help business users explore large quantities of data in a way that provides rapid insight. IT is continually struggling to find better solutions to securely provide end users with access to relevant data in order to stop the constant "reporting treadmill." End users need to quickly make sense of the large amounts of data generated by their business systems. They need more than a report, more than an indicator, more than a trend line, and more than a data dump. They need the access and the tools to answer the question "why" of corporate performance.

ProClarity provides the interface that turns data into insight. Simple navigation with advanced visualizations, powerful calculation, and an adaptable application are core components that make ProClarity Analytics the best tool for answering the question: "Why?"

The core component of the ProClarity solution is the ProClarity Analytics Server (PAS). PAS is a three-tier Web server that queries, renders, and delivers data from the SQL Server Business Intelligence platform. It centrally stores and manages analytic views and business logic, delivering insight across organizations.

PAS is the foundation for additional add-on servers: Dashboard Server provides organizations with interactive performance dashboards optimized for Web and portal deployments. The ProClarity Dashboard enables a central collection point for data that decision makers monitor. This thin interface is a starting point to ad-hoc analysis.

Business Logic Server centrally stores predefined definitions of organizational performance. End users can easily create key performance indicators or custom data sets—client side—without having to write MDX. These can be shared and easily propagated across the organization.

Publishing Server enables users to create glossy publications that integrate commentary, data-driven text variables, and ProClarity Analytics.

Notification Server allows users to subscribe to specific ProClarity content alerting them, via e-mail, when performance is outside of expected parameters. Users interact with the data through diverse interfaces, including rich analytic clients, zero-footprint Web clients, dashboards, portals, ProClarity publications, notifications and alerts, and the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform.

ProClarity integrates with the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform components including SQL Server Analysis Services 2000 and 2005, Reporting Services 2000 and 2005, SharePoint Portal Server, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Business Scorecard Manager 2005.

The upcoming release of ProClarity will feature advanced support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services, including advanced support of the Unified Dimensional Model (UDM). ProClarity simplifies navigation and understanding of the UDM ProClarity 6.1 will support display folders for both attribute hierarchies as well as measures. The software also exposes relationships between user-defined hierarchies, attribute hierarchies, and dimensions. ProClarity is implementing context filters that tailor analytic views to expose only the hierarchies and measures that are relevant.
