Dynamic Systems Initiative Overview White Paper
Updated: March 26, 2007
Summary
Dynamic Systems, the Dynamics Systems Initiative, and Infrastructure Optimization are the three parts of Microsoft's approach to helping you increase the agility and dynamic capability of your business.
A Dynamic System is Microsoft's vision for what an agile business looks like, what you should drive towards becoming as a business to meet the demands of a dynamic business environment. Infrastructure Optimization (IO) is the customer execution path Microsoft offers to help businesses drive towards dynamic systems capability. Lastly, the Dynamic Systems Initiative (DSI) is Microsoft's technology strategy for products and solutions that help businesses increase their dynamic capability.
It is important to note that these three are not just about automating IT management best practices, but about transforming a business and the systems that make it up into dynamic systems, by designing, building, deploying, and operating dynamic IT and business capability.
This document describes each of these three parts of Microsoft's approach, to provide you with an overall understanding of what a Dynamic System is, why it's important to strive to become one, and what Microsoft's technology strategy and execution path looks like to help you get there.
