Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): Q: thanks, well you MS talk abiut take notes electrnicaly but i think many of us speak or almost write on ur maternal language and other language, what microsoft do with these users since the MUIRP will be avalaibable for OEM and corporate?
Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): A: We understand your interest in making the MUIRP available more broadly. For now, we will make it available to OEM and corporate customers only.
Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): Q: If i buy a tablet pc right now my OEM maybe give me the MUIRP or only new machines will be shipped with them?
Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): A: When available later this year, the MUIRP will be available through OEMs on a new Tablet PC.
Special Guest LisaO (Microsoft): Q: Is there any plan to add a mass convert/export as text feature to Journal, so that a whole note could be converted and saved as, say, a Word doc, instead of going page by page?
Special Guest LisaO (Microsoft): A: We are definitely considering this change in a future version of the product.
Special Guest Bethany (Microsoft): Q: Any advice on how ISVs specializing in Tablet PC apps can partner closely with Microsoft?

Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): : The Spanish (Iberian) handwriting recognition that is part of the MUIRP will ship with it later this summer. Unfortunately, it will not be available before then.
Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): Q: Is a Pocket PC/Smartphone version of Journal Viewer being considered?
Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): A: We don't have plans for that at this time. Great suggestion though.

Special Guest LisaO (Microsoft): Tablet PC is a version of Microsoft Windows XP Pro that allows users to write and draw directly on the screen and to use the pen to control the computer like you would a mouse.

Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): A: It depends on what specifically you're trying to do.
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): Q: Do you believe that tablet PCs will replace the palm tops?

Special Guest Bethany (Microsoft): A: Microsoft views devices like the palm tops as complementary technologies. The Tablet PC is a laptop replacement running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): Q: Has anybody tried games on a tablet?

Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): Q: Will there be any beta process for the next revision of XP TPC edition, before it comes out later this year?
Special Guest LisaO (Microsoft): A: The Tablet PC offers you the mobility of a pad of paper and pen. Journal lets you take notes in your own handwriting, convert them to text (if you prefer), save them as ink or typed text, and search on your own handwriting.
Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): A: The current Tablet plans are to ship the next version with Longhorn. We don't have a version of Tablet scheduled to ship out this year. We are still however determining how the beta will work for our next version of the product.
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): Q: Can I write down on the screen chinese?
Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): Q: So the computer did not recognize my writing just now.
Special Guest Dustin (Microsoft): Q: maorachow, what sku of Tablet are you using, English, Chinese?
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): A: You can write in any language. For features like handwriting recognition, you will need a Chinese recognizer, available via MUI Reco Pack.
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): A: Or a Chinese version of Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): Q: (got here late) Are there mainstream tablets now that have indoor/outdoor viewable screens? If so, do they have built-in firewire? (for video capture and analysis application)
Special Guest Chris (Microsoft): a: Several Tablet PC OEMs are developing transflective screen technology optimized for outdoor viewing. At the same time, a number of currently available Tablet PCs have IEEE 1394 built in.
Special Guest LisaO (Microsoft): Q: I guess,there isnot an acceptable chinese tablet now,or if you have produce one,how the computer is doing it,give me a short explain!
Special Guest LisaO (Microsoft): A: Tablet PC is currently available in 7 different versions, including Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional).
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): Q: Which languages a currently supported by Win XP for TPC?
Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): A: The Currently supported languages in OEM manufacured Tablet PCs are Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional), French, German, Korean, and Japanese
