Hi, I’m Steve Reynolds a Program Manager on the IE Team and the main IE MVP contact for the IE Product Group. I’ve been on the IE Team for 4 years and at Microsoft for 11 years, starting out at the IT Helpdesk and moving on the Program Management.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
A: Hi My name is Uche Enuha and I am a program Manager on the User Experience Team

Jeff [MS] (Expert):
Hi, I am Jeff Varga and I am a tester on Protected Mode IE

Steve Reynolds[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Steve your name sounds familiar and thank you for making a huge upgrade on ie7 becuase ie 6 was crap and ie7 is actually a good browser
A: Thank you, it's been lots of fun

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Wnen will you fix excessive windows handles usage (and leak) in IE7 that easily makes system unstable and unusable? It's described at https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=162767 with script for demonstration.
A: I just tried to view the link, but the page does not show up. Can you double check the URL

Amy P (Expert):
Hello!

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Hi I am Markus Mielke and Program Manager for Layout and CSS

Amy P (Expert):
I'm Amy P. I'm the test lead for Internet Explorer Navigation. Looking forward to seeing what questions you have about IE. Thanks! AmyP

Start of Chat:

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: When I right-click tab and select "New Tab" that clearly indicates I want to open new tab RIGHT NEXT TO my tab, not at the end of the tabs bar. When will you fix it?
A: This is the chosen design for opening new tabs but I will pass this feedback on to the Owner of this feature. Thanks

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Please add "By order closed" sort option for History?
A: Do you mean the order in which the tab/window closed?

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Are the CSS bugs still in IE7b3 going to be there in final, or is the IE7 group still working to improve CSS rendering?
A: We said publicly that we are layout complete with the MIX build. We still have taken selective fixes since to address regressions etc. You can use the Beta3 build now and test your pages against it.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Is there any more exciting features going to be coming to IE7 ?
A: At this point we are working on perfecting our existing features. is there a feature in particular that you would like to see in IE7?

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Hi everyone, I've had a problem with IExplorer which resisted all my efforts to fix - I was unable to change hte home page, even by editing the registry
A: are you running IE7 Beta 3??

Amy P (Expert):
Q: Do you think it would be possible to allow the user to close the last opened IE7 tab without having to fully close the browser? Logic might say, if you don't need that last tab, then you don't need the browser, but in practicality, this isn't the case.
A: Matt: Currently this not be supported. I will log a work item to possibly look into it for the next release. Thanks -- Amy P

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I know this isn't a ie7 question but a media player question , why not add ipod transfer , real player has it why not media player I would love to see it in there
A: I will pass on the information to the Media player team. thanks

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Really, it seems that ie7 works with CSS exactly like ie6
A: We did tons of CSS improvements under the strict doctype. We corrected % model, relative positioning, floats etc. For example we fixed all issues except one (which we could not do due to a required architectural change) of bugs up on positioniseverything. We also added more new CSs support for example for selectors, fixed positioning, min/max width height support, transparent borders, background-attachement:fixed, :hover on all elements etc. There is actually a cool video up on Channel9 that will give you an idea.

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Please add "By order closed" sort option for History?
A: Having history sort by the closed date/time is an interesting request. I'll pass this for the feature PM, but this functionality won't change for IE7.

Amy P (Expert):
Q: And 'undo close' button =)
A: michwill: Great suggestion! I will log a work item to have this considered for the next release. Or, having a CTL+Z to restore the closed tab would be great too. Thanks! -- Amy P

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Please add undo button for reopening accidentaly closed tabs.
A: Feedback noted and will be passed on to the owner of this feature. Thanks

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Here's my question: In IE7, can tabs be configured so that each tab has its own private cookie cache (i.e. 'partition'the cookies to each tab)? If so, can the IWebBrowser2 also be configured to provide this functionality?
A: Actually I wanted this feature too. When I was trying to order airline tickets from the same site, when I changed search criteria in one, the results showed up in the other. Unfortunately, we are feature complete for IE7. I will add this to our list of requested features for the next release.

Amy P (Expert):
Q: Will IE7 stop ruining all opened tabs when PC shuts down or crashes?
A: AntonF: I'm not sure I understand. Can you clarify? Thanks! --Amy P

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q [10] ... No, the features I currently see in IE7 are amazing, I have not yet looked at firefox version 2 but I think maybe one of your team should see if theres any more features thats missing from IE7. I love the security in IE7. Good Work
A: Thanks for your feedback. We will be looking at more options for the next version of IE7

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: When will you bix long-standing "This webpage cannot be saved" bug?
A: Yes, we are aware of this issue and are still investigating

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Are you going to add the floating "save picture to" toolbar that was availble under IE6?
A: Sorry, we don't have any plans for this IE7.

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: However after the reinstall issues i have found IE7 beta 3 no problem,it runs good and i am pleased with it
A: Glad to hear that beta3 is making you happy. Please let us know if you notice any problems.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Is there any way to reopen the last closed tab?
A: hey Matt,

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Is there any way to reopen the last closed tab?
A: Hey Matt, right now we only have the option to relaunch IE with the last group of tabs that were open.

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: maybe to make IE more secure you could hide or remove the source function, why is the view source function needed anyway ?
A: I use it everyday and I am sure a lot of web devs would miss that feature as well if we would remove it

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Are you planing to fix the bug where if 2 tabs in same instance of IE are connected to the same HTTPS URL that the session merge/sync up and you loose one of the sessions?
A: I believe that the problem is that sessions are not unique or partitioned across tabs. However the feature you have requested - having isolationg between tabs has been requested and will be added to the requested feature list for the next version.

Amy P (Expert):
Q: i have xp home, and one problem i incyred on installing IE7 beta 2 and beta 3,was it did not work, but found uninstalling and reinstalling fixed all problems on both, why is this?any explanation?thankyou.
A: jelly bean: Currently installing builds on top of each other is not supported. We are considering supporting this for the next release. For now, you will have to uninstall the previous beta and then install the newest version. Thanks! --Amy P

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: When IE7 crashes of computer shuts down, the opened tabs aren't saved. Please fix it.
A: We looked into this idea but discarded it for security/privacy concerns

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: What's after IE7 Beta 3 and when?
A: the next thing to watch out for is the final release for IE7 later on this year

Janek [MSFT] (Expert):

Q: Can you tell us when IE7+ BETA3 will be availabe for Vista?

A: we do not have any information to share about Vista's next release. thanks for the questions!

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Maybe IE7 should improve support with web standard, now web design may write 3 kind of CSS hack:IE6,IE7,and normally Firefox.I think IE7 should learn form Firefox at this point.Thank you.
A: We continiously improve our web standards support. IE7 was a big step in that direction. We know we are not done yet but we are working on it :)

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q. [28] .. OK, why not make a developers IE7 ... I think its a big security risk to open websites that people don't no about the security implimentations when desgining websites with open code.. I have found alot of sites unprotected..
A: I not sure we understand your question - "Why not make a developers in IE7"? Are you asking for details for how security is implemented in IE7?

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Where is the proper place to go to submit feedback/bug reports for IE7 Beta 3?
A: Please send your feedback to the Microsoft Connect site. to learn how to use this, read our blog post: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/03/24/560095.aspx

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: There are too many blocking issues with IE7. You can't browse when using Windows Update, when you are saving webpage, or just when some page hungs. When will you fix it?
A: This bug should have been fixed with Beta3 If you still encounter it let us know

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Also, I noticed in IE7 when you open a link thats a JPEG picture, then you try to save it, at first it tries to save it as a bmp image called untitled everytime, then you ahve to refresh it to get it to save as the original JPEG, prob a minor bug
A: I just tried this in the beta3 build, and it appeared to try to save the image as a JPG. Is there a specific site where you are seing this problem?

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Will issue with too many opened tabs (described here https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=162767) be fixed?
A: i'll make sure that the team working on these bugs are aware of this. thanks

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Markus Q:[38] is not fixed in IE7 BETA3...
A: Thanks We will take a look at it again

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Will the build number of IE7 Beta 3 change at all?
A: The build number of IE7 will likely change between now and the time we ship. We will take a few more critical bugs before we ship which will require new builds

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Will MS use more of the status bar for information? I think of two usefull fields in each tab: "Last accesed by user" and "Window last updated".
A: We don't plan on adding more information in the status bar for the IE7 release. I'll pass this information to the feature owner. thanks!

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I have a question where you were talking about the CSS formats and mentioned a demo on "Channel 9"? What's Channel 9? is there a url?
A:http://channel9.msdn.com/showpost.aspx?postid=188986

Amy P (Expert):
Q: Can you suggest a way that we can get users to easily add a site to Trusted Security Zone? An also enable DHTML scripting for the Trusted Security Zone?
A: CloneZero: Is telling them to do it the standard way (via the Internet Options, security tab) too difficult? I'd like some more feedback on what would be an easier way? You could also provide them with a registry file to do this programmatically. In IE7, there is an options in the custom bar to open the Internet Options w/out opening the menu.. Anyway, about the scripting for trusted sites zone, I will take this feedback to be considered for the next release post IE7. Thanks! --Amy P

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: If my online bank, for example, (Bank of America) looks great in IE6, but looks out-of-whack in IE7, is that a problem with IE7, or the bank's HTML?
A: what version of IE7 are you running cos Bank of america looks good with Beta 3

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Are you going to allows drag & drop to the address bar & the search box in IE7?
A: I will pass this feedback on to the owner of this feature for consideration in future release. Thanks

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Will ie7 ever have themes, and add ons like stocks, movies , etc.. like Mozilla currently has in there borwsersA: We are currently examining the exactly how we allow folks to extend the IE. Currently we extend IE by adding a developer toolbar. But we do not have committed plans on this yet.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I'm having quick tab issue on IE7 beta 2 & 3 which I don't have quick tab, I checked all the settings, they are all there, just didn't show. I asked questions, but didn't get any answers. Please help.
A: hey. what problems are you having?

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Is it possible, in all formal IE's when you are navigating through pages, and not all pictures download, the explorer stops downloading after a certain time and all the rest of pictures turn to X's, think in final realease of IE7, page timeout can be set?
A: Interesstign suggestion. I will pass it on

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Will developers have some way to include the updated WebBrowser component for their own apps, if the user has not upgraded to IE7 themselves?
A: No. Users will need to have IE7 installed in order for applicaitons to take advantage of it.

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Look , session is like document. I don't want to lose my document because Windows Update reset my computer while I was in bathroom. If you think it's insecure, follow the path MS Office took: The next time user runs IE7 ask him if he wants his session toMarkus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: [31] When IE7 crashes of computer shuts down, the opened tabs aren't saved. Please fix it.

A: We looked into this idea but discarded it for security/privacy concerns
A: We will take a look at it in our next version. There are a set of customers who would believe this is a potential privacy risk. Perhaps we could make this a customer selectable option. I will add it to the requested feature list for the next version.

Amy P (Expert):
Q: amy so why did i and many others have to uninstall and reinstall to get either beta 2 or 3 to work?
A: jelly bean: I misread your question, my appologies. Can you clarify what happened when you say 'it didn't work'? Did you get some kind of error? Did the browser not launch? This is news to me.

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Will it be the feature like opening links in tabs by pressing middle mouse button?
A: The ability to open a tab with a middle-click of the mouse works today.

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: I have seen instances where some Adobe applications like Reader don't work when users upgrade to IE7. Is this intentional? If not, is it a known issue?
A: Applications should be working in the latest beta. If you are having issues please report them through the feedback mechanisms at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx We certainly want all applicaitons to run fine with IE7.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q.34, I don't have quick tab on my tool bar. In IE Tools\Internet Option\General, there is a Tab settings, but no Tab icon whatsoever shows up on toolbar.
A: The quick tabs Icon will show up on the tabband when you have more than one tab open.

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: How about give IE7 a alternative option of of zoom whole page of only FONT. Becase only zoom bigger whole page WScroll will be appear. Or that's harder to read a passage.
A: It sounds like you are giving the feedback that you would like the ability to zoom by making the page font size larger - instead of making the whole page larger. We are currently examining a few different options for making zoom more usable for the next version.

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: I asked earlier, but didn't see answer, how does having the option to set the time your IE7 allows to download a webpage before it stops downloading the page. Like when on a large picture site, halfway through, page timeouts, have to refresh.
A: Could you clarify the question please? I'm not sure I understand what you are asking.

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Question.....I know IE 7 is in Beta.........but does it upadte fixees automatically
A: Every new Beta version has all updated fixes. That's why it's so important that you guys send us feedback so we catch regression bugs before we ship it.

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Re Q47, please *don't* make it remember open tabs on a crash. One of those pages probably caused the crash, and going back to the same place will make history repeat itself. There would have to be some way to clear tabs to escape from that problem.
A: There are also privacy concerns. We'll take a look at it for our next version.

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: After opening a link in a tab window, it pop up in a new tab next to it (preset in tools by me). When closing this tab, the browser returns to next tab, and not the original previous. Could MS fix this minor bug?
A: Hi Tommy, the reason for this design is so that you can efficiently go through all of your new tabs. Ex: I am looking at a search result, and open 10 new links in tabs. As i finish reading one tab, closing it automatically puts focus in the next tab.

CyraR [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: just truley loves IE 7 beta
A:: :D thanks

Steve Reynolds[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: i do like running ver 7 but wonder if it is only me, or does selecting detected setting automatically under the LAN settings, really slow down things? I'm wondering if the check box settings are reversed
A: The Detect setting would be benefitial for if you were using a proxy. Are you using a proxy?

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q:http://www.myleague.com/fnl/ i can't get this site to work
A: i don't think this is a browser issue as i cannot get this site to work in various browsers

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q.34, I don't have quick tab on my tool bar. In IE Tools\Internet Option\General, there is a Tab settings, but no Tab icon whatsoever shows up on toolbar.
A: do u have any questions about this feature?

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Question about WebBrowser control hosting. Is there any way for the host application to know when some visible changes have happened on the page after the page was loaded?
A: You should be able to hook into the onproperty change events

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Question about WebBrowser control hosting. Is there any way for the host application to know when some visible changes have happened on the page after the page was loaded?
A: You should be able to hook into individual events in the DOM for changes from the host application but you will have to know exactly what change you are looking for.

Christian (Moderator):
Just a heads-up on time here, we’re now about halfway through today’s chat. Thanks.

Markus [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: *Load webpage with many large images. Soon most of them would stop loading and show red X* FIX it please.
A: Can you send me a repro page where you encountered this? thanks

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Why were modal/modeless dialog changed to increase the minimum size? This breaks many web-applications visually and doesn't contribute to security or anything else I could see, see examples at http://207.210.80.41/support/research/dlg.png
A: Can you supply the HTML to reproduce this? I'm not familiar with any changes here. How does it break a web applicaiton?

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q.34, I don't even have the tabband on the toolbar. I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE7Beta3 a numerous time, same thing. Can't figure it out. But, I install Beta7 at home, the Tab icon is on the toolbar, but not on my work pc.
A: The tabband is where your tabs are located. the tab icon is the button after your last tab that enables you to open more tabs. you should see the icons for favorites center and adding a favorites on this band as well to the left

Steve Reynolds[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I want to browse while saving a webpage. (Ideally it the tab of the page that I'm saving too)
A: This is a good suggestion and we will review for later versions.

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I want to browse while saving a webpage. (Ideally it the tab of the page that I'm saving too)
A: When you mean saving a webpage, do you mean file > save as? If so, how long does the process of saving take? I'm not seeing an issue with webpages that i save that it interrupts my browsing experience.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q:[59], I don't have question about tab feature, I like to use this function which I have it at home computer, but don't have it at work computer, can you show me some documents as to troubleshoot why tab icon doesn't show up on the toolbar?
A: could you send a screenshot of your browser so i can better understand what the problem is here. Thanks

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: One more thing, since the re-ordering of tabs wasn't going to make it into IE7 but did, can we POSSIBLY see the ability to middle click on a folder on the Links toolbar and have it opened in tabs? Pretty please? I'll buy you all flowers/roses :)
A: In the release of Beta 3, you now have the ability to reorder your tabs :) enjoy.

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: can I run ie6 (or earlier) and ie7 on the same machine, or is it only either/or?
A: Virtual PC is now free and will allow you to do this but IE7 is a system component and will replace IE6 on the operating system.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q:http://www.myleague.com/fnl/ works fine with firefox
A: funny enough i just tried it again on IE7 Beta 3 and it is working.

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Do you use Maxthon ?
A: Ocasionally we will use other browsers such as Maxthon yes.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: BTW, excellent job on the Print rendering/scalling! It will solve so many issues for our customers. Thank you!
A: Our pleasure :)

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: sorry, my internet keeps cutting off, anyone get my suggestion about the setting a timeout time for IE downloading a webpage, so you don't have to keep hitting refresh when it doesn't finish downloading a page?
A: thanks for the suggestion. Please submit feedback through http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: what are your deployment plans for IE7 once it's out of beta? will it be an automatic update to all XPSP2 IE6 users? what's the deployment timeline?
A: It is not going to be an automatic update (ie it will not be mandatory to install it) but we will be promoting it as an update

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Would like to congratulate on the 'Release' of IE7 l3eta, really seems it could attract more users to 'Windows OS'. Any bugs found I shall report them. Keep up the good work collegues.
A: Thanks :)

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Janek, sorry my question was not clear. Will the ability to middle click on a folder which is located inside of the Favorites > Links folder and then have those links inside said sub-folder open up in new tabs make it into the final build?
A: Ah, thanks for the clarification. We won't have that support for the Links folder, and you'll have to do this by opening the favorites center.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I do not see Max Stevens in today. Was he too busy to make the chat?
A: He sends his apologies for not being able to make it.

Amy P (Expert):
Q: Thanks Amy P (Q35) it is to hard for the level of user that our site supports & our new menu system will not be ready when you s & menu are permission based on our site & regressio. The best things would be a nice prompt we could send the"do it" button.
A: yeah, currently there's no easier way, but good feedback. You could provide a link or button that runs a registry file (or have them save the file to their machine to run later). However, they may be concerned about running a registry file for security concerns. Thanks! -- Amy P

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Do you like FireFox ?
A: Do you like IE?

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Will you be shipping IE7 'Release' By CD ?
A: It will be available as a download from Microsoft.com just as the beta is today. I don't know about CD.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: what is stopping me from changing the start page in ie7, registry tells me ther is an error in writing the new value's contents, but nothing has locked hte host or is protecting registry at the time
A: an easier way to change your homepage is to go to Tools/Internet Options/General Tab and the first section enables you to choose what your homepage should be. you can even have a group of webpages be your homepage

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: The reason I ask is that re-ordering of tabs was not going to be implemented until later versions but some how made it into beta 3.
A: Some things make it and some things don't. We try to be careful not to commit to things until we are confident about them or we get accused of misleading people :)

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Good morning/afternoon. I am writing in regards to Connect Feedback ID: 151552. I was informed that this bug was actually fixed. I know when I posted a comment on the IE blog that someone said it may not be possible to fix. Can I just confirm the updat
A: This bug is fixed, but didn't make it into the Beta 3 release. You'll see this functionality in the final release.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q.59 sure I can send you a snapshot of my toolbar, would I be able to past it here?
A: i am not sure but you can give it a try :)

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I am rather like FF than IE now ,hope IE7 realease ver will reseizure my heart 8ol Good Luck, greater!
A: I hope so too :)

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: On one system, I have IE7b1 installed but have lost the uninstall files. How do I get back to IE6 so that I can install iE7b3? My SR points don't go back that far.
A: go to Control Panel/Add/remove programs (make sure your show updates check box is checked) and you should see IE7 BETA1 as an option that you can remove

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: I'm glad you guys were able to fix it, great job on IE7.
A: Cheers!!

janek [MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Janek, so there is no chance that it may possible sneak it's head into a future build? Will something like this have to wait until IE8?
A: sorry, nocturnal. we're at the point that is feature-complete and fixing critical bugs.

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: RE: Q44 -- I'm using Beta 3. Bank of America's home page may look good, but once you log in, text is abnormally small in places, & the menus on the left side are cropped. See: http://accentpc.com/boa.jpg for an example of the cropping.
A: Thanks for the report. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx outlines how to submit feedback and bugs.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: What happens if I got disconnected from the chat, and I suspect the answer to my question was posted while I was reconnecting? I don't want to re-ask it because I know it's against the rules...
A: In this case it should be Ok to ask. what was your question?

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: Talking of applications working with the latest beta. I am having problems with Outlook 2003 and HTML mail https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=162255.
A: Thanks for the report. We'll be investigating.

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: can you be more specific than "later this year" for when you expect to release the final version of IE7?
A: I am sorry I cannot be more specific

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):

A: no problem

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Q.102, I can't paste it here even I convert bmp file to a pdf file, is there any other way I can show it to you?
A: you can send it to my email at uche@microsoft.com thanks

Uche[MSFT] (Expert):
Q: Will there be a x64 edition of IE7 been released for 64 Bit users ?
A: yes there will

Amy P (Expert):

Q: I installed flash player 9 on ie7 flash clip from adobe plays and says it was installed succesfully but when I brows to another sit or the same site I get asked to install it again. any suggestions?A: sorry, pressed enter early. Was going to suggest you try completely uninstalling Flash and install again. You need to use the Flash uninstall program to get it totally off the machine. If you look in the flash directory I believe you should find an uninstall program.

Q: RE: Q67 -- So to confirm... rendering issues with pages that look good in IE6, but not in IE7 (Beta 3) are a problem with IE7, and not the Web page?
A: Not at all. See the article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/IETechCol/cols/dnexpie/ie7_css_compat.asp which explains the issues. Sites that were relying on incorrect behavior in IE6 MAY now need to change for IE7 where the behavior has been corrected.

Q: As a personal opinion the windows live search is really interesting, how does the windows live search function get hits on pages? is it like a submit function to get sites listed on the MS live search ?
A: I'm pretty sure they have a crawler to find and index sites. I don't think you have to submit anything to have your site indexed.

Q: I would really like to have the abiity to keep the IE7 interface/menu the same as IE6 and incorporate the new styles gradually for those users that are not "computer friendly". I don't see the ability to do that with these beta versions.
A: Robert: This is a great feature request. We are considering something like this for the next release post IE7. Thanks! -- Amy P

A: I will pass on this feedback. Thanks

Dave Massy (Moderator):
Q: How many open tabs do you think is apropriate to have open at once in one session?
A: I think that is up to the user and however they like to work :) Obviously the more tabs you have open the more resources of your computer are being used although we are workign to minimise that. It probably doesn't make sense to have 50 open if you are only using 4 of them :)
