Start of chat:
Nick [MSFT] (Moderator):
Q: What is more important for good tv on media center - add more ram to my pc or better processor? (Vista ultimate)
A: It depends on which one you're currently more constrained by, and what kind of symptoms you're seeing. Either one of those can constrain your experience if you're trying to do many things on the system at the same time, particularly with high-def content. Like many hardware upgrades, you're best off figuring out which one you're "running out of" in your case and upgrade that one first.
MikeGarcen-shadymg (Expert):
Q: hi...i saw the netflix thing but when i left for work this am it hadn't shown up yet
A: You should be able to manually force it by going to MCE > tasks > Settings > Automatic Downloads > Download Now
Tim [MS] (Expert):
A: Chris - the Netflix tile is downloaded during normal guide updates. If you force a guide download, it should show up.
Andrew Cherry (Expert):
A: Also depends on what country you are in!
Tim [MS] (Expert):
Q: I use Digital Cable Cards for my TV signal now, but I've heard this is a newer techology coming out? Does anyone know anything about - advantages and/or approximately when will it be available?A: Hi Andy. I'm assuming you're asking about MOCUR. http://msmvps.com/blogs/chrisl/archive/2009/01/08/1659674.aspx has some info you might find helpful
Tim [MS] (Expert):
Q: Hi - my friend said i can get tv on my zune. how do i do that?
A: Hi lisa. This chat is specifically for Windows Media Center. You might find information about Zune on http://zune.net
If you use Windows Media Center to record TV, you can synch some programs to your Zune using the Zune software. You go to the Settings page in the Zune software to set this up. We have a video up on how to do this: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-media-center/go-media-on-zune.aspx
