Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): Q: In Journal, when converting to text, it is a bit hard to correct questioned text because the are small and close together, are there plans to perhaps make the editing a bit easier to use (especially with calibration being a bit off etc..)?

Special Guest BetahnyB (Microsoft): Q: People are having trouble doing clean instals of the OS because many of the USB cd & DVD are not bootable, is this something that is being adressed?

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): Q: Also for Journal, are there plans for having a toolbar perhaps floating for options such as 'convert text to ......' instead of needing to go to tools, maybe a customizable floating toolbar?

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): A: Why a floating toolbar for options?

Special Guest RobJ (Microsoft): Q: How about what was suggested on The newsgroup a couple of days ago , A way to log on with a signature or doodle , instead of the on screen keyboard ?

Special Guest RobJ (Microsoft): A: We're looking into this, it's an interesting problem. In particular, it's tough to be as secure as a password yet be reliably accurate.

Special Guest VictoriaHamilton (Microsoft): Q: Are there plans for gestures built into the OS, perhaps gestures that we can draw and link to programs/commands?

Special Guest VictoriaHamilton (Microsoft): A: We are looking into increasing the gesture functionality. Is there anything you'd like to launch specifically? (E-mail, browser, etc.)

Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): Q: ChrisH - Q: Uninstall/reinstall option for Windows Journal. We're having a time with that, since it isn't among the options in Add/Remove Programs. A: Unfortunately the only way to repair the Journal currently is the system recovery provided by the

Special Guest BetahnyB (Microsoft): A: We understand many of the OEMs are working to improve the available docking stations and port replicator solutions that are currently available.

Special Guest Mason (Microsoft): Guest_ChrisH_MVP says: Q: What work is being done so programs (and games) can run in Portrait as well as Landscape modes? A: This is an important issue we are working on

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): Q: Stupy : I'm not sure if this has been asked or resolved yet - does the current version of Tablet XP have recognition for non-english languages (i.e. Asian)

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): A: Tablet PC is available in Japanese, Korean, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional). Keep in mind that you have to buy that particularly version. Each of these versions also comes with the English recognizer installed.

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): A: There was an error in a slide shown on the screen during Will's keynote that implied that Tablet v2 would ship in 2003. This was an error and is not correct. Tablet will be releasing the Multi User Language and Recognizer Pack (MUI) in July of 2003 f

Special Guest BetahnyB (Microsoft): A: The OEMs realize docking solutions are a big area of opportunity. As the form factor improves, we expect to see improvements in this area.

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): A: continued...implied that Tablet v2 would ship in 2003. This was an error and is not correct. Tablet will be releasing the Multi User Language and Recognizer Pack (MUI) in July of 2003 for the Tablet PC operating system, which enables broader multi-li

Special Guest Lisa Osse (Microsoft): A: continued...lingual corporate deployments, and also includes a Spanish language handwriting recognition engine. We will not be releasing version 2 in 2003, and it is too early to comment on future releases beyond the MUI at this time.
