Whatever your hobby or interest is, you can set up Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to record all the shows related to it. This is a great way to keep up with shows or movies featuring your favorite actor or director, or your favorite sports team’s games.
- Press the Green Start Button on your remote to open the Media Center Start menu, and then select My TV.
 - On the My TV page, select Recorded TV.
 - On the Recorded TV page, select Add Recording.
 - On the Add Recording page, select Keyword.
 - On the Add Keyword page, select from five options:
- Actor name. Record all shows or movies featuring a specific actor.
- Director name. Record all movies directed by a specific person.
- Movie title. Record all movies matching the title you specify.
- Program title. Record all shows matching the title you specify.
- Generic keyword. Record all shows or movies that have a title, actor, director, or description that matches a keyword.
 - Use the number keys on your remote to enter a keyword. For example, to enter the letter "a," press 2 once. To enter the letter "b," press 2 twice. An index to all letters is displayed on the page. As you enter the keyword, Media Center displays criteria that match your keyword. Select the correct keyword when it appears. If you selected Generic keyword in step 5, select Save.
 - On the Keyword Record page, adjust your recording options as desired. Media Center offers several recording options. Then select Record.
Tip: You can select a category if you want to narrow your results. For example, if the keyword is "Robert Brown," you could select the "Series; Comedy" category to record only TV comedy series that Robert Brown appears in. |
 - Review the sample list of programs that will be recorded, and then select OK.
After setting up keywords to record, Media Center will automatically record shows or movies related to your interests, whether they start tomorrow, next week, or months from now.
