Customize the Guide: Hide channel listings

Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 includes a Program Guide that makes it easy for you to find TV shows to watch now or record in the future. To make the Guide easier to scan, you can hide channels that are not included in your TV service package. You can also hide channels that you do not watch regularly.

To hide one or more channels from your Guide, follow these steps:
First, display the Guide by following these steps:
  1. Press the Green Start Button on your remote to open the Media Center Start menu, and then select Settings.
  2. Media Center Start menu with Settings selected
  3. On the Settings page, select TV.
  4. Settings page with TV selected
  5. On the TV Settings page, select Guide.
  6. Settings page with Guide selected
  7. On the Guide Settings page, select Edit Channels.

  9. On the Edit Channels page, use the arrow buttons on your remote to scroll through the list and find the channels that you want to hide. Select a channel and Media Center will tune to it so that you can see if you receive that channel or not. Clear the check box next to each channel you want to hide.
