Easily view your pictures with Media Center


With Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, you can display slide shows of your digital pictures anytime. Just follow these steps:
  1. Press the Green Start Button on your remote to open the Media Center Start menu, and then select My Pictures.

  3. To view the pictures in a specific folder, select the folder.

  5. Select Play Slide Show.

Media Center will automatically display each of your pictures. You can use the remote to control the slide show by doing the following:
  • Press the PAUSE button to pause the slide show.
  • Screen from a slide show
  • Press the PLAY button to resume the slide show.
  • Press the left arrow button to return to the previous picture.
  • Press the right arrow button to skip to the next picture.
  • Press the MORE INFO button, and then select Picture Details to view the picture details or edit the picture.

  • Press the STOP button to stop the slide show.
You can also listen to music while you view your slide show.

Add pictures to your library

To view your pictures in a slide show in Media Center Edition, they must be saved to your My Pictures folder. You can add pictures to your My Pictures folder by following these steps:
  1. Press the Green Start Button on your remote, and then select My Pictures.

  3. Press MORE INFO on your remote.
  4. Select Add Pictures.

  6. On the Add or Remove Folders page, select Add folders, and then select Next.

  8. On the Add Folders page, select Add folders on this computer if your pictures are currently stored on your Media Center PC. If your pictures are located on another computer connected to your network, select Add shared folders from another computer. Then select Next.
  9. Tip: To find picture files that are stored on a mapped network drive, select Add Folders on this Computer instead of Add shared folders from another computer.

  10. On the Select folders that contain Pictures page, select the folder or folders in which you have stored your pictures. You can view subfolders by selecting the + sign. When you have selected the folders containing your pictures, select Next.

  12. On the Add Folders page, select Finish.

    Any pictures in the folders you specified will now be available in your My Pictures folder. Viewing your pictures as a slide show is a great way to enjoy and display your digital pictures.
