Scanning with Windows XP

After you've installed your scanner, begin scanning by placing the object you want to scan on the scanner bed and following these steps.

Click the Start menu, point to All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Scanner and Camera Wizard.

When the Scanner and Camera Wizard begins, click Next.

In the Choose Scanning Preference window, choose the Picture type option that best matches the object you're scanning, and then click Next. If you would like to see a preview of the object you're scanning, click Preview before clicking Next.

In the Picture Name and Destination window, type a name for your image, select the file format you would like to save the image as, and select the folder where you would like the scanned image to be saved. Click Next.

Your scan begins. In the Picture progress area, a bar indicates the progress of the scan. When the scan is 100% complete, click Next.

In the Other Options window, select what you would like to do with your scanned image. By default, the Nothing. I'm finished working with these pictures option is selected. Click Next.

Your scan is complete. You can preview your scan by clicking the link (in this example, My Pictures\Picture) and see the results of your scan before closing the wizard. If you are not satisfied with the results, click Back to adjust your settings and try your scan again.

Click Finish to close the wizard. The wizard shows you a preview of the scanned image.
