Three ways to share your digital photos
Published: December 2, 2005
With a digital camera, it's easy to take a lot of photos. But after that, what do you do with them? Quite often, the answer is simple—share them with others. Here are three fun and exciting ways you can share your digital photos in new ways—beyond printing.
Take your digital photos with you

One way to share your digital photos is to put them on a portable device that you can take with you when you see family and friends. Before you leave, you can sync your digital photos from your computer to a portable player that displays photos.
A wide variety of portable devices let you sync your photos to them and then display them, from portable music players (MP3 players) to portable video players, such as a Portable Media Center.
Share your photos with others at home

Another way to share your photos is to display them at home on your computer or, better yet, on a TV. One way to share your photos on a TV is to connect a digital media receiver (DMR) to your home network. Today, DMRs let you play back digital music, digital photos, and even videos that are stored on your computer over your home network and on a TV. So the next time you have company over, you can share and enjoy your digital photos by displaying them on your TV at home.
Make a slideshow and put in on a DVD

Another fun and exciting way to share your digital photos is to take it one step further and turn your digital photos into a slideshow, complete with pan and zooms. If you like, you can add your own personalized narration, music, titles, and more. Doing this has never been easier. To turn your digital photos into a fun and entertaining slideshow, you can use Microsoft Photo Story 3 for Windows. After you create a slideshow (also called a photo story) in Photo Story, you can share the resulting video with others by playing it back on your computer using Windows Media Player 10. With a little extra software for Photo Story, you can even save and burn your photo story to a DVD to share with others. Simply burn your slideshow to a DVD, put the DVD into a DVD player, and then enjoy the slideshow on a TV. You can burn your photo story to DVD from Photo Story by purchasing and installing Sonic DVD for Photo Story 3.
