This wizard will guide you through the trial and error required to find the correct settings in compatibility mode. If compatibility problems prevent you from installing a program on Windows XP, run the Program Compatibility Wizard on the setup file for the program, usually called Setup.exe or something similar.

To run the Program Compatibility Wizard

1.

Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Program Compatibility Wizard. (This instruction works for an XP style Start menu.)

2.

Follow the instructions in the wizard.

If your application does not run correctly after testing it with the Program Compatibility Wizard, check the Web. Updates or other fixes may be available on the application manufacturer's Web site, on Windows Update, or for games, on the Web site of the manufacturer of your video card or sound card.
