Set Compatibility Modes for Removable Media

When an application is being installed or run from a network share, the Program Compatibility Wizard displays a warning that the program is on removable media (for example: a network share, a zip drive, or CD-ROM drive). You never have the option of setting a compatibility mode on one of these removable media files.
A workaround for me was to copy the installation files locally, and then use the Program Compatibility Wizard to specify whichever modes and fixes most closely represent the operating system in which the application performed correctly. This allows me to set the mode as a permanent setting so that it is invoked every time the application is run.
