Description

The text states that "Users can create Active Directory objects from a Windows XP Professional-based client if they have sufficient permissions and the Windows 2000 Administration Tools has been installed locally." Windows 2000 Administration Tools cannot be used on computers running Windows XP Professional.

Corrected Text

You can use the Windows 2000 Administration Tools Pack (ATP) to create Active Directory objects; however, you cannot use Windows 2000 ATP on a computer running Windows XP Professional. To remotely manage Windows 2000 servers from a Windows XP Professional-based computer, use Terminal Services to connect to a Windows 2000-based computer running ATP. For more information about installing Windows 2000 ATP, see Windows 2000 Server Help.

Note

Remove the version of ATP included with Windows 2000 before upgrading to Windows XP Professional. Check the Microsoft Web site for updates to ATP that are compatible with Windows XP Professional.
