Write Anywhere on Your Tablet PC Screen

Did you know that you can use most of your Tablet PC screen as a writing area? By enabling the Write Anywhere feature, you can write entire paragraphs on the screen. Write Anywhere will save you time by automatically converting your ink to text and inserting it into the active program.
To use Write Anywhere, you need to make the button visible on the Input Panel title bar.
To make the Write Anywhere button visible
1. | Tap Tablet PC Input Panel on the Windows taskbar. |
2. | On the Tools menu, tap Options. |
3. | On the Write Anywhere tab, select the Show the Turn on Write Anywhere button on the title bar check box. |
4. | Tap OK. |
To use Write Anywhere
1. | Tap Tablet PC Input Panel on the Windows taskbar. |
2. | Tap the Turn on Write Anywhere button on the Input Panel title bar. A large box appears, indicating where you can write. |
3. | With the writing area clear of ink, tap where you would like to enter text. |
4. | Enter your text in the writing area. A few moments after you finish writing, your Tablet PC will automatically convert your ink to text and insert it where you specified. |
To change the length of time before Write Anywhere inserts your text
1. | Tap Tablet PC Input Panel on the Windows taskbar. |
2. | On the Tools menu, tap Options. |
3. | Tap the Write Anywhere tab, and in the Handwriting section, drag the Recognize handwriting and insert as text after slider to adjust the length of time. |
4. | Tap OK. Note: The Write Anywhere feature works best when you write in a straight horizontal line. When you hover your pen over the writing area, you will notice that a line appears as a guide. |
