How do I change skins in Windows Media Player?
Published: November 9, 2005
You can customize the look of your Windows Media Player with new skins. Skins are alternative user interfaces—they change the way your player looks. Skins are a lot of fun because they come in a variety of styles and designs and are compact, so you can easily tuck the Player into a corner of your desktop. You can use a lot of the main Windows Media Player functions in skin mode—play, previous, next, stop, and volume control. You can also easily switch between skin mode and full mode—press CTRL+2 to get to skin mode, and CTRL+1 to return to full mode.
To find new skins, go to WMPlugins.com.
1. | Set Windows Media Player to Full mode: press CTRL+1. |
2. | On the View menu, click Skin Chooser.
 |
3. | In the skins list, click on the different skin names to see previews of the skins.
 |
4. | When you find a skin you like, click Apply Skin.
 |
Your Player will change to the skin you selected.

You can change skins as often as you like, but you must be in full mode to do so. To return to full mode, press CTRL+1.
