Tip: A Passport Network account—which is free—enables you to use both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger. A Passport Network account is also your key to other Microsoft online services—including MSN Spaces, Hotmail, and more. With the Passport Network account, you can move among sites and services easily without having to sign in and enter your credentials at each point. To use Windows Messenger, you need to have a Passport Network account. You can sign up for one at the Passport Network site. For more information, see Set up Windows Messenger.
That’s it! You’re in. You’re now ready to begin adding contacts, sending instant messages, sharing files, and more.
