Windows Messenger allows you to specify whether your online presence will be seen by everyone, or only by the list of contacts that you create yourself.
1. | Click Tools, click Options, and then click Preferences. |
2. | Click on the Privacy tab. |
3. | The default setting is to allow all other users to see that you are online.
4. | To change this, click the Block button to move all other users to your Block List.
5. | As you selectively add friends, family, and co-workers to your contact list, they will automatically be added to your Allow List.
6. | When other users wish to add you to their contact lists, an alert will display and you'll have the choice of allowing or declining. |
