.NET Alerts is a free service that notifies you of time-sensitive events and information. You can get local traffic alerts, auction events, stocks, calendar events, music, shopping, and more. You can receive alerts on your computer via e-mail, or sent directly to your mobile phone or mobile handheld device.

Some alerts are only available to paying subscribers of a .NET service and some content providers require you to make a purchase in order to receive alerts. .NET Alerts does not charge you to receive alerts on your mobile device; however, many wireless service providers charge you to receive text messages, including alerts, and may also charge you each time you reply to an alert.
