After evaluating Google Apps, Steve Moore Chevrolet chose Microsoft Office 365 online communication and collaboration tools. “Unlike Google, Microsoft offers a familiar user interface—that’s an absolute must for our staff,” says Portello.
PTG, a member of the Microsoft Partner Network, introduced Steve Moore to Office 365. They configured 63 Microsoft Exchange Online mailbox accounts, deployed Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus, and built an intranet based on Microsoft SharePoint Online. Staff
uses team sites for document collaboration and Microsoft Office Web Apps to edit documents through a web browser.
Reduced risk of fines up to US$250,000. With data stored at Microsoft data centers, Portello can quickly find data for Chevrolet auditors and no longer worries about losing information or paying fines.
Better customer service. Managers can now update SharePoint Online folders with pricing sheets, so sales staff can access the information with mobile devices and instantly answer customers’ questions.
Enhanced communications. Business development staff uses instant messaging to send sales representatives customer preference data to close sales.
Boosted productivity. “I’m saving 40 percent of my day not running to my computer for information,” says Portello. “With Office 365 I can use my mobile device to access information.”
