SPEAKER 1: Planet Earth from space. FERNANDO DE LA PENA LLACA: When I was a kid, I was watching sci-fi movies. Watching a hologram coming from a robot, I was like, wow, that was amazing. Thirty years after that we made that possible. SPEAKER 1: A spacecraft. FERNANDO DE LA PENA LLACA: Well, my name is Dr. Fernando De La Peña Llaca, and I'm the president and CEO of AEXA Aerospace. We use the HoloLens to develop mixed reality applications, especially for training. We work with customers like NASA. We were the first one and the only ones that completed holoportations in space in human history. We were selected as a team to receive the JSC Director Innovation award of the year. That moment, it was a magical moment for us because then we figure out discuss a lot of potential. This is the beginning of a new communication technology. SPEAKER 1: Viewing exploded diagrams. FERNANDO DE LA PENA LLACA: We have been using a lot of tools from Microsoft. tools like the HoloLens the best holographic computer, a software developer kit that helps us a lot and also the Kinect camera, which is a great component to capture holographs. Our technology is based on Azure servers, is so powerful that we are developing for multiple platforms, not only Microsoft devices, and that was only possible with the Azure servers and all the developer kits that comes with those. This is going to be the future to communicate. When we went from phone calls to text messages to Microsoft Teams, the possibilities are endless. Imagine holoporting the best surgeon to any remote location to assist with a complicated surgery. Imagine that Air Force has an airplane that used to refuel and if they have an issue, now they can just call up for the subject matter expert, and that person can assist them on real time. This hololportation is the beginning. The application goes from health, energy sector, to the Department of Defense. This partnership with Microsoft will take us to create a new way for people to communicate, to work, to interact and socialize no more in a two-dimensional way, in a three-dimensional way, we just open a box of unlimited possibilities. SPEAKER 1: Microsoft.
