- Ansys is the world's leading software simulation company. So we provide a platform where you can build real-world objects in software, test them, prototype them, see how they're going to operate when they get out into the physical world, before you have to build it. At Ansys, we prefer to do the majority of our cybersecurity work in house. Now, the pain point you get into when you're trying to run operations entirely in house is manpower. If you want to have 24 by seven coverage every day of the week, the level that you have to scale that team up to is just unrealistic for a company that has 5,000 employees. We partnered with Red Canary because we've worked with many of their engineers and incident responders over the years. We've known some of these guys for more than a decade, and we trust them to be part of our team. So, Red Canary's been supporting our operations by giving us that coverage that is around the clock at all times. - We help our customers focus on true threats that are active in their environment, or that could turn active, so that we can stop these breaches before they get very expensive and very damaging for our customers. - We are ingesting all of the data that comes out of the Microsoft Defender security platform tools. And we take that data and we look through it for threats on a real-time basis. The integration with our MDR service and the Microsoft security suite allows customers to extract more value out of what they have invested in their Microsoft security tools. - Another advantage of Red Canary is we only see what happens to Ansys, but Red Canary gets to see what happens to all their customers. With the visibility they provide, they know what bad looks like on a workstation, and that can be replicated across all their customers' workstations. - One of the values to a customer of end-to-end visibility is that we are no longer looking at a single alert, let's say, from a single endpoint or a single system. We have the ability to zoom out and look across their entire IT environment. - A company like Microsoft has insight into systems all over the planet in all sorts of different contexts, and taking that insight and making it available to customers via Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting is extremely valuable. - When we first heard about Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting, there was some initial concern that it may be a competitive offering, but we've decided to help Microsoft design a manage detection and response solution because our laser focus is on adding value, providing value to our customers. And one of the encouraging parts of that whole process was that the team involved listened to partners. They listened to what we had to say. The result of that, I think, is something that we are now excited about. - Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting is going to be really valuable for partners to take advantage of a global view. - Our ability to deliver results to our customers is impacted and has increased as a result. On average, we see about a four X increase over the detections there, and about a 96% decrease in noise. - Working with Red Canary does increase our confidence, because it's more eyes on the glass. - I'm really excited to see how we, together with Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting, can create an experience for customers that is contextualized for them, but incorporates this global view of security.
