Blind Veterans UK is a charity. Our members are all over the UK. We are showing people there's a life beyond sight loss. My career in the armed forces came to an abrupt end. I woke up in bed and I realised, crikey, you know, I can't see. My life took a turn when I got in contact with Blind Veterans UK, and I suddenly felt not alone anymore. I have retinitis pigmentosa. The centre of my vision is fairly clear, but then it goes to grey, and eventually out to black. When I found Blind Veterans UK, my life changed completely. First of all, they give you your confidence back. All of a sudden, I'm starting to do things again. We have a photography group. We share our photos. Microsoft Teams has enabled us to stay connected. There is a feeling of community. Microsoft Teams really helps us as a charity to support members through induction courses, interests, activities. It's intuitive to use. People can connect easily, whether using a computer, tablet or mobile. Nobody's missing out. I access Microsoft Teams by drawing my fingers across the screen. It's a lot easier than using a conventional keyboard. -Morning Billy. -Morning, guys. Great to see you. You feel like you're in the same room. It's fantastic. And you've got white flowers with a pale centre and little white dots. Sight loss can be lonely and very isolating. Bringing people together is paramount. Anything's possible with the right team around you.
