ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: Carlsberg is a brewing company and we are still located here in Denmark in Valby Bakke where it all started 175 years ago. EMILY DALTERIO: You can find a Carlsberg in over 100 markets. While we're connected in our purpose of brewing for a better today and tomorrow. We certainly are a modern workforce that needs to be connected with each other. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: I think technology has been a fundamental cornerstone of our DNA. It is an integral part of how we work. The old intranet didn't reach the number of people that we wanted. EMILY DALTERIO: We strive for making sure that we have the best beer in the world for our customers and we wanted that same experience for our employees. We wanted them to be able to utilize tools that met their needs from the minute that they left their house to the minute that they went home. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: And that's where an employee experience platform also comes into the picture. TIM LAURIDSEN: Teams was the best choice based on the good feedback we've seen from the employees. On top of Teams, we then brought in Viva connections as the platform for CarlsNet. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: Viva and Teams is a great tool because most of our workforce is already licensed there. It has in-built security. It was much more easy to roll it out to the users. It was simply to pin the Viva connection application in Teams and roll that out to all our users. EMILY DALTERIO: People voted on the design that they preferred. We did a naming competition. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: So what you see today on CarlsNet is truly built by the employees. EMILY DALTERIO: Co-creation is so important for Carlsberg. It's an ethos of how we do our business. TIM LAURIDSEN: I would describe CarlsNet build on Viva Connections as a highly customizable, mobile-friendly solution. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: The dashboard is really the gateway for everyone's workday. That's where they start their day. XENIA VALLES GAMUNDI: When I come at the office, the first things that I open are Teams and CarlsNet because then I can be up to date on the news that have been happening in the company. I follow the functions that are relevant for me, but also the central office where I'm located. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: It looks like a social media feed that you can interact. It's fun. TIM LAURIDSEN: So I think the digital experience is being improved by the fact that the Viva Connections dashboard can really be targeted to the individual employee's needs. We've done the beer of the day, we've done the cantina menu. We also have the ability to actually do customized dashboards for different departments, individual teams by using audience targeting. ANNE SOPHIE STRANDMARK: Microsoft Viva can do integrations into our HR systems into our employee benefit systems, and basically creating that one-stop-shop for the employee. EMILY DALTERIO: Microsoft Viva has helped Carlsberg create a better digital experience for our employees because it's in our pocket now. TIM LAURIDSEN: Inclusion is about people to be able to reach each other and to consume the information they need when they need it. XENIA VALLES GAMUNDI: For me, I think that it's a very powerful tool to actually build a community because, for example, on the posts, you can comment and tag people. But this grows together with the behavior in the company.
