- Webber Wentzel is a premium services law firm. We are based in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We do some of the largest mergers and acquisitions across the African continent. My personal belief is that technology is a superpower. One of the fundamental things I think for most teams is that we are often resource constrained. We have to think about doing more with less. But in our sense, because of the fact that we know bad actors aren't standing still, we're thinking about how to do new with less. - We get questionnaires from our clients which we need to respond to. - As a team, it was hugely frustrating having to take weeks to answer client questions that we should be able to answer in a fairly short space of time. - All that manual work that used to take most of my time, it was frustrating and exhausting. Given the fact that we're just a team of two. - One of the fundamental reasons of why we considered building the modern security platform is team engagement. And we tried to think about how we increase meaningful work for the team. And so what we were looking for was for something that would enable our future ability. And we see the future as a place where things integrate, where things play well together. - When we first implemented Microsoft 365 E5, I was like, "Wow." I was blown away. Can there be a tool with so much solutions for a security analyst like me that offers so much information and telemetry that you can easily digest it and be able to implement more solutions for the organization? That was power. - When we started the journey, our compliance score was in the 20s. But now we are hovering around 80%. Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager is like an umbrella that governs our client's data. All the necessary tools that we need are there. Data Loss Prevention Policies, Multi-Factor Authentication, Conditional Access. It's like a one stop shop. - Based on the robust platform that we have built that covers our ecosystem, our teams don't have to spend time on tedious work. But can spend time on meaningfully responding to our security risks. - I would say, now it feels a relief. I have one view where I can find all the information that I need. I can just say, "Okay. Where do I want to check our devices, our identity, our client's data, what's happening in our environment?" I have it in one single pane and it helps me sleep at night. Microsoft provides us with the tools that we need. It's a hand in glove combination.
