>> Cybersecurity is one of the fundamental part of Siemens services at the moment because we are permanently as a big company under attack. >> We have approximately 300,000 employees spread across 2,000 locations in almost each and every country on the planet. We have health care, we have energy distribution, we build trains, we have even a Siemens bank so we are also active in the financial business and due to the size of this company and due to the different groups of people, there is typically not a one size fits all solution to protect everything. >> That's the fun, that's the challenge to really coordinate that and say yes, we are able to protect Siemens. >> We decided to go in direction zero trust and we started with the Enhanced Microsoft Security as a joint project between IT and cyber security. >> A focus area of zero trust for Siemens is never trust always verify. In the past, we had a best-of-breed strategy so that means we have lots of different systems, the problem which comes with best of breed is simply that you need to integrate them in order to have a full visibility of all the data. It's expensive to operate, you do not have always even the technical possibility to combine all of those things so that's why we changed from a best of breed strategy to best of suite. For Siemens, the best of suite approach is important because we have a single pane of glass of all of the different Microsoft security systems in one place, where we can act on, on a central way, and in real-time. We do not really just touch the normal application access, we also go into the factories, into the shop floors, and even into our product. How does a train communicate with its system in a zero trust model? If you consider those things then it's becoming really exciting. We have one of the most complex and biggest Active Directory on the planet and also if we compare our Azure tenants or Microsoft 365 tenant, it's huge. >> This gives us the chance to control access to our data, so from my user perspective it's easier, from our perspective as cyber security we have more control. >> Not too many vendors on the planet which are capable to integrate all of the complexity which Siemens has into one system, in order to achieve and to raise the security bar as we did. That's why we have chosen Microsoft. >> That's great having all experts on board, having the mindset on board, having the clear focus that we want to become a Zero Trust Company. That's what I'm proud of. That's Siemens.
