How it works
Complete a purchase
Get started by buying a new device online at Microsoft Store. Then save your order details from your Microsoft account as a PDF receipt. You'll need that later to complete your trade-in transaction.
Current trade-in promotions
Up to $700 back with pre-order of new Surface Duo
Get a trade-in value
Check the eligibility of your used device by sharing some details about its condition on the CExchange appraisal page. Once that’s done and you’ve received a trade-in value, you’ll instantly see how much it’s worth.
Verify your purchase
Upload your PDF receipt from your Microsoft account as your proof of purchase to the CExchange trade-in portal. You will need to create a new CExhange account to start your claim and receive cash back. You’ll receive verification of your purchase within seconds. For pre-orders, trade-in offers cannot be claimed until your device purchase has shipped.

Send in your old device
Pack and ship your device to CExchange for free within 15 days of your trade-in approval. Once received, CExchange will inspect it against your appraisal details and determine its final value. If it doesn’t meet the trade-in criteria, CExchange will either recycle it or return it to you free of charge.
Once everything has been finalized by CExchange, you’ll receive payment via PayPal or bank transfer within 14 days of your used device’s inspection.
The CExchange difference
The leading electronics trade-in and recycling service for retailers, CExchange is the trusted strategic partner for the Microsoft Store Online Trade-in Program.
The Microsoft Store Trade-in Program powered by CExchange lets you trade in an eligible used device for rebate after purchasing a qualifying device from Microsoft Store.
Just answer a few questions regarding the brand, model, and condition of your used device. CExchange will provide an appraisal that reflects a fair estimate of your device’s condition and value.
Once you’ve made a purchase of a qualifying new device at Microsoft Store, request a quote for your old device. If you approve of the trade-in price, just print out a prepaid shipping label and ship your used device to CExchange. Once your used device is received and its condition inspected and approved, a rebate will be issued by CExchange to you within 14 days.
If your used device isn’t eligible for trade-in, you can still recycle it. For help with recycling or otherwise disposing of a used device, see Microsoft’s end-of-life management and recycling resources available in your region.
