Dynamics Marketing administrators will be informed of upcoming updates both by email and within the application itself.
A notification appears in your Dynamics Marketing application
When an update is scheduled, Dynamics Marketing displays a notification bar to all users, announcing that an update is available and providing a link to the Update Options page (for standard users the Update Options page is read-only, but for admins it provides approval, notification and rescheduling controls). This notification bar will continue to be shown until the update has been completed.
Update notification emails are sent to admins
Ninety days before the update becomes available, Dynamics Marketing sends an email to each address specified on the Update Options page (plus the primary administrative contact registered for your instance in Microsoft Office 365) informing administrators and other key personnel that an update is available and providing useful information and links about the update. Reminders are sent 90, 30, 15 and 7 days before the update begins.
Links to important details about the upcoming update, including possible update issues, will be included in the email notifications that are sent to administrators announcing the upcoming update. Be sure to open these links and read them carefully; take special note of integration and connector issues if you are integrating with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Microsoft Social Engagement. Also, pay special attention to new SDK and OData-feed details if you are taking advantage of these services via external systems and/or spreadsheets. Based on these details, contact all key personnel that are likely to be affected by the update and then plan and schedule accordingly.
