many features do not work!!!

Many features do not work as the version used in the office. I thought it was just because it's home version, but too many features are not working to make it very limited in its usefulness. and I love Excel at work! What a waste of money!!

Sadly still so buggy it is essentially unusable

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Excel and use it for my work. I love 2011 for Mac but this latest version has so many bugs with the very fundamental interface functions (e.g. like selecting cells or columns, referring to cells in formulae using the mouse) plus regular crashes that I find it unusable for work OVER A YEAR since I first tried it. I am forced to keep to the, now very outdated, 2011 version because I simply cannot trust this version with my data. Regrettably, cannot recommend.

Watered down, disabled features version for Mac

I wish it would except zero stars. Where to start. Microsoft took the full version of its Excel for Windows and disabled some of the most useful features to make sure the experience on a Mac was worse. I'll mention one case in point: borders. The once included pencil tool for easily creating cell borders was unceremoniously removed from the Mac version. The only way to add borders is to use the clumsy pull down menu. Worse, there is no way to remove single borders since the eraser tool was part of the pencil border tool. I could go on, but suffice to say that you are NOT getting the full version of Excel if you buy it for the Mac. It is watered down with functions you use for every spreadsheet missing or haphazardly added. This was clearly done on purpose since these are features that had been included with previous versions of Excel for Mac, but were removed. I wish there were another company I could use for spreadsheets, but since MS has a monopoly on office software I feel stuck.

Something Happened

I have Microsoft Office for Mac 2010. I had my hard drive crash and used my external HD to load on to new HD. Recently it seems corrupted. If I buy a new program will that take care of problems?

Overall OK

I've been using Excel 2016 for Mac for about a month now and am pleased with it. I have not experienced any crashes or glitches (as mentioned in some other reviews). However, one feature that is VERY disappointing is the functionality of named ranges. This version is quite primitive: the dialogue box is so small you can't see enough of the named range. Even more disappointing is the fact that the editing feature is really limited. I'm hoping this will be fixed in updates to come. Still, I would recommend this product.

Don't buy

Excel 2016 for Mac does not support PowerPivot. DO NOT BUY it is not the FULL install of Excel.

Lots of trouble to download a program

I keep getting an error message when I try to log in for the purpose of downloading. No trouble for the purchase log in.

I have been using Excel for years, first on a PC and now, for the past 5 years on a Mac. While the PC version of Excel never gave me problems, the same cannot be said for what Microsoft releases for Apple. If you are still using Office 2011 for Mac, I highly, highly, highly, highly recommend you do not upgrade to 2016, because for all the problems that 2011 has, 2016 has them 10 fold. However, if you like random crashes, being unable to select cells with the mouse, being unable to do basic Excel functions because the application won't respond, and many other failings of this program, then by all means Excel 2016 is the product for you, otherwise, stick with what you have.

Trouble trouble

I downloaded this product on 4-17-2016. After the initial download the program worked properly. A couple weeks after using Excel for macbook I began to experience glitches. Eventually the program stopped working. I haven't been able to use it since the early June.

Great for my Macbook Pro!

I do not like to use numbers that is installed on the MacBook Pro. I love excel and this product is great.
