Fantastic, Commander

Fast paced, hard hitting tactical TBS gameplay with uncompromising AI and challenge. Xcom 2 is the sequal done right. Polished graphics, improved cinematic gameplay and interesting story make this an instant genre standard.

Good but I felt rushed

Im a big fan of enemy unknown/within and i couldnt wait to play this. Visually, the game looked better and actually felt like a sequel. However, the game always seemed to be rushing me. In some of the missions, not all, I had to accomplish an objective in a set number of turns. Sometimes it was 6 turns. I would have to rush my team to the objective, and then lose them to enemy fire from poor positions. On these same mission types I would be more strategical, like the game should be played, but run out of turns. This frustrated me so much that i had to stop playing and return the game, since it was rented. I dont mind having to rush a bit once in a while, but it is very disappointing when it changes how the game should be played. If you dont mind this, and dont mind losing a lot of your soldiers, then the game can be a lot of fun.

Good Game But Has Issues

The game is very enjoyable and brings some fresh additions to recent XCOM games. But be warned. It has a lot of glitches, suffers from loss of frame rate(LAG) at several points, horrible loading times and crashes from time to time. So save often.

Incredible gameplay, gamebreaking crashes

Nearing the end of the game is a curse, constant crashes and black screens keep you from enjoying this excellent game. gameplay is smooth and, if you arent mentally handicapped, incredibly fun.

Love this game. The need for strategy in this game and customization of characters is amazing. Anyone that thinks this game is too hard has no mind for strategy games. You can't use the same tactics on every mission.

I bought this when it first came out and at first there were quite a few bugs. I stopped playing for a while hoping the updates to follow would have fixed it. Alas, the game is still glitchy, buggy, and down right off putting. To be specific the combat chance of hitting your target is screwed up, I end up missing far far more than I hit. Each shot ends up feeling like a Hail Mary. Enemy AI hardly ever misses and lands criticals far to often. The game will go through "stutters" which also seem to effect outcomes of movement and combat. The transition for the "Faceless" is absolute garbage! What project director in their right mind puts out a sub par animation for a unit that has such a profound impact on the battlefield. Overall it is reminiscent of the originals but has far to many hiccups to be enjoyable. I leave this game frustrated every time. Don't waste your money.

Excellent but Unstable

Having played Enemy Unknown/Within, I believe that this game makes solid improvements coming from those titles. The soldier classes are more interesting and well balanced. Every piece of gear in the game has its uses which gives players a lot of good options with how to approach any given mission. A lot of missions include a timer mechanic which discourages players from moving slowly and throwing everyone on overwatch (which could make any mission trivial in Enemy Unknown). It's definitely a challenging strategy game, especially when a 99% chance can still fail, but it's more rewarding as a result. An engaging game overall. I didn't have many issues my first two campaigns, however my most recent campaign has gotten deadlocked by a glitch. This game is prone to crashes. Upon completing a mission, and either attempting to save or access to World View, the game will crash. This occurred from multiple save points in the same campaign and rendered it unbeatable as a result. Beware.

I'm terrible at it

Fantastic game, much harder than the first in a great way!

Overall a great sequel, but heal doesn't work

Great sequel, cleverly challenging. Fun to 'puzzle' out tactics vs superior forces...but the in-mission heal function doesn't work. When mission ends the fully healed soldier is still out for 22+ days, seems like an important bug to fix when game hinges on a rapid-response strike team...I still enjoy XCom's games despite the frustrating lack of support

1 out of 5...what!?

Don't get me wrong, I love xcom. Ive played like 2 other ones. That being said, I have a problem with this one. A large enough problem for me to reset my password cause I forgot.... (my email one too so i could get to the verification code...) to load my smartglass for a keyboard. Any game that allows you to customize characters and then take the options away from you because you unlocked another armor is a pile of _ _ _ _. I absolutely cannot stand this. You spend time making your characters look the exact way you want them to, only to have that awesome ability in the game, taken away from you by the developers. It honestly takes away my motivation to continue playing. I'll save you some time, don't even change the way they look and as for the developers, just make it so armors you unlock can look like any previous armor. Oh and btw, great idea to sell some addons to further customize your soldiers, with this handicap...thx.

The Most Unfair Game I've Ever Played

Overall the game is great! But the unfairness is a deal breaker for me. Your 4 soldiers have assualt rifles and grenades, sounds like enough right? Not when the enemy can use mind control and make one of your soldiers run to the other 3 soldiers and drop a grenade killing himself and 1 other soldier leaving you with 2 soldiers vs. their 6. Then they use some weirdo trick to bring that other soldier back to life as a zombie with a full health bar. And they do the same trick when you finally kill one of them. If you somehow managed to kill all 6, there is about 8 more lined to fight that last soldier u got left. When one of your soldiers is spotted, no matter how well the other soldiers are hid, everyone is spotted. There is a difference between "Hard" and"Unfair". Dark Souls is hard, and I love those games, XCOM 2 is unfair. I regret buying this unfair game.

Crashes and Bugs

I'm sure that there's a great game here somewhere but it crashes frequently and the glitches are overwhelming. And unfortunately, patches don't seem to be coming.
