Studio MDHR

Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings. Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!

Welcome to Heckity Heck.

Cuphead is by far one of the best platformers i've played in years. Everything about the game stands out, from The Gorgeous 1930's Cartoon art style to The Insanely hard bosses and Run & Gun levels. The Bosses are so unpredictable and unforgiving, yet sooo satisfying to defeat. Just a warning to anyone thinking of buying Cuphead, do not let it's kid-friendly look fool you........keep in mind that this is not your average platformer. It's more of a boss rush/bullet hell type of game and is not for the faint of heart. If you're not prepared to rage out, don't even bother buying it. UPDATE: After beating the game, I can tell you right now that it's actually pretty easy once you learn the bosses patterns and figure out which weapons and skills work the best. All it takes is patience and quick reactions. If you can't handle that and still think that this game so unfair & impossible to beat......go play the original Battletoads for the SNES, then you'll know the true meaning of UNFAIR.

Challenging, But Fair

This game is drawn as a 1920's/30's cartoon, which is what drew most people to it. Underneath the visuals is one of the hardest games ever. The bosses are some of the hardest out there, and they require near perfect concentration to beat. There are multiple enemies and projectiles on screen, and you have to pay attention to ALL OF THEM, including your character. Every boss has a moveset, and you MUST learn it, otherwise you will be in for a rough time. They also have multiple phases, each with their own moveset. This game is around 7-8 hours long and it will keep you busy. In other words, BUY IT! EDIT: I just found out there is an Expert mode (it's just beating all the bosses all over again but they're MUCH faster) and it is extremely difficult. EDIT AGAIN: I unlocked all the achievements, which is something I'm not doing again. Anyways, buy this game because it's amazing :D! EDIT ONCE MORE: VOTE THIS GAME GOTY! IT DESERVES IT! That's the last and final edit. Goodbye.

This Is EXACTLY The Type Of Game I've Been Waiting For

Great job for the developer for making this type of game with it's hand drawn cel shaded 1930's inspired cartoons of that era....I just hope more games like this are made; I HOPE there is a sequel in development 😆😆😆🙂🙂🙂

This game is a true masterpiece in its gameplay, art, and overall feel. The difficulty is challenging yet rewarding, this isn't a game you can just sprint through on your first go. It's something you need to invest time in and be willing to lose. I only have two problems with the game. No multiplayer and you're unable to swap between cuphead and mugman. Other than that it's a MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!

Ignore the 1-star ratings

This game is amazing, the visuals, gameplay, and music are all fantastic. The game is indeed challenging (thats why some are rating it 1-star) but thats the point of the game. This is the best $20 I spent all year.

Awesome game

This game is so freaking hard but I keep coming back for more. There is something addictive about learning the boss battle patterns. Def buy if you love shooters, platformers and are looking for a challenge.

A Great Game Modern Contra-ish Mastapeese! 🏆

This game is great, it looks beautiful, the artstyle is impossible not to enjoy, the difficulty is extreme but the controls and response times are excellent to the point that dying is your fault and not the game cheating you. These 1 star ratings are obviously being dropped by people expecting a Mickey Mouse Disney kids game with no to minimal difficulty...why would you neg a game for being enjoyable, fulfilling, and worth the effort put into it just in the feeling of accomplishment you get from advancing at the game. Haters need to save their crap and rate the game fairly. Even if it was unfairly difficult everything else about it earns a 3 or 4 at the very least!!!
