Wait for the F2P Transition...

Here's an honest review... Fortnite is an amazing game. It focuses on Base building, Team-work and essentially zombie killing. It's a squad based, mission based open world zombie killing building platform. And while that's all very well and dandy... After putting in about 50 hours. (I've been playing, sleeping and eating Fortnite since the launch) It's possible and only negative ATM, is it gets incredibly dull and super repetitive after awhile... The missions are all based around the limited amount of game modes they offer. Whether it be killing an alotted amount of zombies... or saving the same generic survivors with the SAME lines you've heard a million times... for the first few days you have a blast... until you realize there are barriers around you. Mandatory quests that nobody bothers to assist you with. Or essessive amounts of grind... to reach the same boring, dead scenery you've already seen... The SAME missions over and over... It's a great concept game, but unfinished...

Battle Royale review only.

If you've played the Battle Royale genre then you pretty much know what this game is about. Deploy on to the map, gather weapons and items, maneuver the ever shrinking play area, survive. I was initially concerned about the cartoony look of the game, but I've managed to get over it and doesn't seem to detract at all from the overall gameplay. Playing solo is fun, but playing duos and squads is where I feel this game really shines, so get some friends to download it and join you. There are a few issues that I have noticed. One is that at times the hit boxes can be a little off, and two is that the game seems to stutter/lag at times but only for a brief second. Still that can be the difference between winning and losing in a firefight. Lastly, I see a lot of the PUBG fanboys trashing this game but they need to get off their high horse as PUBG took a lot of elements from DayZ and H1Z1. This is a genre now, lots of games will look similar, I think Fortnite does enough to separate itself.

Scratches a lot of itches

Fortnite takes a lot of popular mechanics and makes a game out of them. Zombies? Check. Horde Mode? Check. Lots of loot? Check. Crafting and base building? Check. Tower defense? Check. RPG style skills trees? Double check. It's not short lf it's flaws, however. Game crashes more often than I would like, I can see the missions getting repetative, and there is a slight lean towards pay to win. But if you enjoy grinding for loot and building/defending bases, than this is the game for you.

Too easy, repetitions, but fun

The tutorial is long, begining map sector is too easy to the point where you dont even need to build defences. If you make it past the first few hours I think its fun but could get old pretty fast. Recommend playing with friends, blast through the beginning, and it gets more challenging. BTW this game will be free next year if you don't want to risk buying it.

PlantsVs.Zombies meets Borderlands meets 7 Days To Die!

Take the cartoony monsters of PvZ, add in the epic weapons and feel of Borderlands, and throw in the crafting open world feel of 7 Days; and you get this action packed thrill of a game!!!

Honest review. I guess

So after playing for a few days heres my opinion. Im enjoying my time on this game. Its a grindy tower defense horde zombie Third person shooter. It has just enough to keep you into it, adding critical spots while mining helps keep you in and from zoning out. Building is a blast, but takes getting used to, loot is plentiful. IS IT UNFINISHED? Well yes. Its early access. It has its share of bugs, and crashes, but Ive seen triple A games years after still do the same. There is potential here. Itll just take time. I cant wait to see how they improve. Side note, server issues are gone now.

Battle Royale is a GREAT FREE game

This game is great. It is a last man standing game, with a sort of, craft it on the spot, mechanic. People are quick to leave bad ratings, and bash developers because of a few bugs, yet they haven't spent a single cent to aquire this game, regardless of whether or not they purchased the standard edition. Cut the devs some slack. We are lucky they didn't release this part of fortnite for 40$ as well. Leaving a 4 star review because there is always room for improvement 👍 Also they are still, to this day, continuing to try and fix bugs AND add additional content FOR FREE.

Fun, but not what I expected

Fortnite is a very enjoyable experience with friends. your mileage may very depending on which version of the game you get and how much time your willing to put in it, but the game has a terrible repetition factor that for people who want a variety of things to do in the game will be disappointed greatly like I was, For those who are ok with this extreme repetition, the games systems, gameplay, and over all structure is great (ha, puns).

Cool, just needs some tweaks.

The game is awesome but crashes WAY TOO MUCH when taking your squad into a mission and right after you complete one. It's done it to me 5 times today😢 Another thing that needs improvement is the inventory space, instead of having stacked items that are limited to 99 it should be increased to a 1,000 or 999 and some epic and legendary weapons break a little to easily so if some mechanic could be put in place for that it would be good. Overall this game is good just needs a few tweaks here and there.
