Freemium Economy, Full-Price Game

The economy of this game is utterly broken. Money is meted out at a paltry rate, requiring players grind races just to progress in the campaign. It's anti-fun. T10 finally addressed the scandalous VIP pass, but the lack of drivatars in private lobbies remains a deal-breaking issue. Here’s hoping Microsoft heeds customer feedback and fixes a once great franchise.

Forza Motorsport 7

While FM7 is has improved over its predecessors, it has one glaring issue. These garbage loot boxes, and cutting content from the VIPs. I have become really upset over games becoming a "service". It seems now that Turn 10 built Forza around loot boxes and micro transactions, rather than making the game more in depth, deeper, and enriched with content. This must be Phil Spencer forcing his games as a service agenda, rather than pushing the best racing sim developers into making a rich, deep single player experience. Forza Motorsport 7 will be the last Forza I purchase if this is the direction the franchise is going.

Feeling betrayed

well to start things off there was the bait and switch with VIP. And then the introduction of the loot crate system... People wanted innovation in the racing genre from this game, instead we've been given something is taking 2 steps backwards. I love Forza and I was tricked into buying the ultimate edition by a group I thought I could trust... Disappointed beyond belief. I would only recommend this game to those who wish to buy the basic version of and want to either grind more than they did in destiny 1 or wish to spend an extra 100 on the micro transactions the game was designed around.

Pretty limited.

The whole uprading your favorite car and tweaking the gears to be competitive is gone. You buy, win, or earn cars that are class capped; throw on your favorite rims and your car is out of spec for the race. Not sure what to think of what was my favorite racing franchise. It is a huge disappointment, it reeks of what will benefit shareholders short term versus a continuation of why fans loved the series.

Loot boxes!!!

Sad to see a legendary game turned into a pay to earn scam . Oh and VIP is NOT worth the money!!!

Beautifully disappointing.

First off, Turn10 or microsoft saw fit to delete my last review. So here it is again with one less star for being manipulative and also slightly shorter because its tedious typing on here. Forza 7 is beautiful to behold. It feels a slight bit more arcade-ish than the previous installment, but its still a fine driving sim in its own right and the physics are spot on to make it challenging and deeply frustrating sometimes, but also the potential to be incredibly enjoyable. The devs at Turn 10 however seem to have gone all “big government” and think we should be told how exactly we need to play this game. The absurdity of the homologation aspect is downright insulting and is enough to push me away from the franchise entirely even though I’ve been with it since Forza 2. No idea what they were thinking. So many more negative things i could say but, alas, I’m out of room. In short, a beautiful game spoiled by rules.

GO HOME YOU ARE DRUNK

Giving VIP cars & cash doesn't fix the game. There is no S,A,B,C,D Rivals or multiplayer races. The game won't let you mod your cars for multiplayer or online. For example you can't turn a class C car into a class B car and race it anywhere. As a matter of fact you cannot even add a wider tire or engine upgrades per car class. The testing location to test and/or tune cars is 5 pages deep sowhere in free play & you can't selet test drive from the tuning screen anymore. Want to buy a cool ferrari or lambo? To bad you have to a certan level.. The crates, race mods and the leveling system make it feel like the candy crush cellphone game. I honestly don't see a benefit buying the XBOX X just for this game & the rate these reviews are going many wont be playing anymore anyways. BUT We were rated 10/10, 4k capabilities, Weather! we have the best weather.. Everyone should uninstall & not buy the game, passes or car packs until updates happen. it will be worth it. Never pre-ordering again.

Would have been 5, but...

They apparently changed VIP bonuses back to being permanent, but no more big prizes on levels. They basically made it much harder to get high end cars or credits. The prize crates are totally ridiculous. The entire game screams monetization; despite there not being any actual in-game sales (Marketplace has yet to open) it still makes the cash and car build up very slow and grindy and thats why it will remain at 3 stars, not 5. I've pre-ordered the last 3 or 4 ultimate editions, but I will be double checking the next Horizon title. Seems to be the new direction of gaming.

1 step forward, 2 steps back

They have taken so many features out, No PI class multiplayer, No quick test drive, VIP perks aren't permanent. There are only five MP hoppers, are they are divided into their new lame homologated system, so there is no diversity of cars. No drift lobbies, points drifting is lame but still wtf. save this game for the $20 bin people. And I hope they provide Hieronymus1967 with kneepads and mouthwash for hard work he does on the forums banning everyone that doesn't gobble on T10's knob. 🔥💯

Good, could have been great

The last forza motorsport I played was 4, was so excited to see the franchise finally come to PC. Was somewhat let down. The homologation pretty much made the upgrading of cars pointless. Although it is realistic because in real races there are restrictions. I always played forza and most racing games with assists off and liked the bonuses they used to give. Now you only get bonuses if you use "mods" obtained from loot chests that you need to spend credits on and presumably real money in the future. I felt shafted when I found out what "VIP" was, although turn 10 did make a turn(heh) and is updating it so it doesn't have limited uses. AI drivers can still be pretty dumb, but to be fair I don't think anyone has really nailed ai in racing yet. Negative things aside I'm playing the heck out of this game, it's gorgeous, just the right mix between sim and arcade. Hopefully turn 10 will learn from this and the next one will be better
