The real review

Let me start by saying I'm not a 343 or Halo fanboy so you can trust my review. It is better then the first one but in all fairness I paid $10 for the first 1 used and didn't play it this much. Now for a RTS its good takes me back to C&C days the campaign is decent an multi is fun. But blitz mode only has 1 map an I could see that mode turn into a pay to win very easy. The others modes are fun an fair just time seems after 30 min or so match is over either way longest I've played a match was 32min then around that time game desides winner if you both are still standing. Which was kinda a let down I'm all about getting to fight down to my last unit. So with that an my story play threw I experienced glitches like units not working properly to were I had to reset the level or find away around it is why I gave it 4 stars. Now this happened several times so I strongly recommend saving a lot. With the level restart would usually fix the problems. In all this is a really good RTS I enjoy it.

Solid RTS wtih a few standout features

I really liked the first Halo Wars, so I was quick to jump in with Halo Wars 2. I don't think this sequel is as good from a story standpoint as the first game, but there's enough gameplay depth to enjoy it. As with any RTS, the real fun happens when you compete against other players to see who can build the better army and counter the best. With a significantly-expanded Leader Powers tool and several leaders with somewhat unique skill sets, Halo Wars 2's RTS experience is a little more involved and variable than your typical Age of Empires or Starcraft game. It's not perfect, and I'm sad the narrative didn't end up being as epic and engaging as the first, but that doesn't deter me from playing Halo Wars 2. If you like Halo or you like RTS games, give this a try.

Cash Grab

All the ultimate edition with the seasons pass got you was some characters and useless maps. If you waited 7 months for the "complete edition" you would have saved yourself roughly $40 and get this new paid DLC, which they had made seem would have been covered in the seasons pass months ago.

2nd Update. Swindlers and Thieving Trash 343

I used to like this game... paid the 80 dollars for the deluxe edition. What Deluxe Edition you ask the one they deleted from the store and replaced with the "complete" version... for 60 with everything included. Including Awakening the Nightmare. So I pre ordered it and 343 just screwed us over so if you bought it when it came out well to bad your screwed. I will never buy your crap for this 343, you've lost this customer.

Awakening not part of the season pass.

Yes I understand you guys have jobs & need to be paid but its not right that people who own the season pass have to pay more. There are people including myself who spent $90 on the ultimate edition & now with Awakening the nightmare DLC it costs $20 even to season pass owners. If we pay for the new DLC we'll be spending $110 which isn't right because the whole point of a season pass is to give all new content free to the people who paid more. There's a new edition you guys released for Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition that costs $60. the HW2:CE has all the DLCs including awakening again its only $60. It's not fair that people who by HW2:CE will only be paying approximately half of what people who bought HW2:UE & Awakening DLC have & will be paying for. $110 to $60, that's not right to the community who support u guys. You're slapping us in the face & not caring. You guys don't need people who paid $90 to pay an extra $20 since a new edition was released for only $60 with EVERY DLC.

Better than the original

I didn't like where the Halo games went after Reach and turned to Halo Wars instead. Halo Wars 2 took everything good from the original and only made it better!

As a RTS Fan I know how Hard it is to even find a...

Decent 1 on a Console so its Tough being to Critical. I've been enjoying HW:2 since I got it last Month. Luv the Unique Leader Specific Units and Powers, the Graphics are Great but noticed a Slow Down or even Game Crash when playing a Multiplayer Game & to many Units are Fighting it out On Screen but sure it'll b resolved. Played 50 BLITZ Matches b4 trying the Campaign which has been fun but sense it could be Longer. The A.I. is tough but that's Mainly due to this Games #1 DRAWBACK, how tough it is getting Units bth Grouped into Squads & sending them out. Still, Im Enjoying HWARS:2 and Hope 4 some Great DLC in the future.

I thought it was safe

With the release of the complete edition, I have lost all respect for the devs. I payed $80 for the ultimate edition, only to not recieve all future content, as promised. Then the ultimate edition came out, which does include everything, but for $60. This isnt okay. As much fun as this game is, do not buy it. You will be giving money towards a practice that shouldnt exist.
