True review from someone that played this game.

this is observer the creators that made layers of fear. This game so far is really good i havent beat the game yet but i have about 4 hours in and im loving it. The story so far is good and there is alot of side quest you can find and alot of hidden stuff and collectibles. If you like games with jump scares and exploring and reading deaper to unravel more of whats going on around the main story and you liked layers of fear this game is a must buy. i gave it a 4 out of 5 and thats because no game is perfect there is some framerate issues but i could look past them alot of the time because i was immersed into the game so deep. If that changes and gets fixed i will come back and make it a 5 out of 5. This game brings something different you can look for clues a few different ways and find codes but the big thing i like is being the Observer being able to go in to peeples minds and unwrap what they cant tell for 30 bucks you cant beat it speically for the broken games this year. thanks

Not my cup of tea, but...

I became intrested in this game because of the detective elements that were described in the description, and that fun detective work is definitely there, but it's not the main focus. The first time I had to enter someone's mind I thought that you would generally be playing through fearful memories/what happened at the crime scene, but thats not what I witnessed. You get what you're looking for in the last seconds of the memory and the rest is just weird. Needless, to say this game can really mess with your head and the story can be a lacking at times, but as a 'psychological thriller' I think it does what its set out to do. In terms of comparing it to Outlast, I'd say it's half as scary and just as strange. This game wasn't really my style, however I'll give it a 4/5 out of respect for the genre and the game's execution. Solid experience.

A hidden gem

Lets start off by saying if you expect this to be a horror game, its not. This is a mind bending-mess with your head detective game set in a Blade Runner style universe. Think of it like Inception mixed with Blade Runner with some psychedelics tossed in. The game also has a lot of puzzles to keep you thinking. Some graphic scences, monsters, and scary noises are about as far as you get with the horror and its not going to give you nightmares. Some people said they encountered bugs. I only had the game crash one time but the game saves constantly so I didnt care. This game is a true hidden gem. I never heard of this game till I saw it released on the Xbox Store. Well worth the price. You wont be disappointed.

Need more games this good

Fantastic story, setting, graphics and acting at a perfect price point. Get it now, and support the team behind the equally great Layers of Fear.

finally.....

finally a game that REALLY messes with my head!!! Scary, not yet. Screw with your head, YES!! Been a long time since i could say a game could actually do that. This is a game that is immersive, a story that unfolds as you play and how you play, if you like just blowing stuff up and shooting people, this might not be for you. This game also gives a great future world where 1984 meets Blade Runner without being too unconvincing or generic. The price point is spot on too, nice to see a company not charge 50 to 60 bucks for a new game, cant wait to see other games from them in the future!!!!!

A Hidden Gem!

I can't believe I didn't hear anything about this game! Caught me by surprise and I love it as I was in a gaming slump. Best $30 I ever spent. The team that created this gem is definitely going on my list of best developers and it's a small list. (CD Projekt Red, Bioware, 4A) If your looking for a game different from the same ol' garbage devs seem to dish out every year. (Kinda like the movie industry) Nobody seems to have a new idea anymore but every once in awhile someone has a brain fart and the rays of awesomeness shines upon them. The result...OBSERVER! Thank you Bloober Team for creating this mystery masterpiece and also props to Rutger Hauer for his great performance. Bravo 👏👊 ✌

>Choose Wisely, Because There Is no Right Answer_

Only noteworthy issue is sound lagging behind whatever caused it. Makes jumpscares less potent. Otherwise, FANTASTIC STORYTELLING!

great game just one suggestion

The game is awesome. However, after finishing the game, it would be cool if there was a menu unlocked where I could pick whichever section of the game I want to play. Also, there should be a save menu. Make a sequal.

i loved this game!

The game got off to a bit of a slow start for me but once it got going it became every bit the spiritual successor to Layers of Fear that i was hoping for. Great graphics too.

Static Nightmare

Been a very long time where I've played a horror game that gave me constant anxiety of what is waiting around the corner. Good timing in between each jump scare which really gives you that dread of whats to come. Over all great game if you really want to get spooked.
