Hard... but Amazing.

As a gamer who played during this period, I loved how it constantly poked fun at the cliches and quirks, but did so in a "fans eyes" sort of way. Don't be fooled, this isn't a "spoof" game... it's a stand-alone title. For the gameplay; its HARD... they let you know at the start: choose - Hard, Brutal, or Insane. You have to play through one diff. to get to the next; but, it's a whole new questline, not just the same but harder. As for the rouglike aspect; It's done in a way that I've rarely seen and find frustrating but not monotonous. The encounters have different reactions to your choices each time. You can take a quest from the same person- Different Quest; Pet a dog- 10xp, Fight, Etc.. That being said, unlike some roguelikes, you don't get stonger or gain new abilities each time you fail. You just start over. You WILL START OVER. For the price, this game is Great. It's hard, but replayable. Frustrating but greatly rewarding. I'd say 4.5 Stars, but since there is none... 5 Stars!

I want to love it

It plays great, the writing is hilarious, but this game is buggy. I've had three different save files either disappear or start from a much earlier point in the game. Nothing sucks more than losing hours of play in a game where you are always starting over after dying anyway. If you don't have the 5-6 hours to play an entire campaign in one sitting, this game is not for you. If it weren't for this problem, I would rate the game a 5. I have spent a lot of hours playing, losing, and starting over, and loved it. But I am tired of continuously coming back to the game to see that my last 2 hours playing were all for nothing.

This game features great game play and hilarious story and characters. My only compliant is poor menu interface. If your an old school RPG fan, this game is a MUST HAVE! 👍✌🐢

Only fun for a few hours

Im someone who is old enough to have owned a commodore 64 and the first game i ever beat was bards tail. So the trailer and gameplay had me reaching quick for the buy button. Unfortunately, after about 6 hours ive deleted the game from my harddrive. 90% of the game is easy. 5% is hard but not too hard. 5% is annoyingly hard. You know how to know youre a bad developer? 1) You add artificial difficulty by making death final. 2) You add artificial difficulty by making players finish a quest before they can return home.. 3) You add artificial difficulty by giving tiny limits.on storage. And remember you cant return home until youve completed a quest so you end up deleting 75% of the loot. 4) You use a random RNG loot system which will decide how far The player gets. . 5) You give bosses spells that kill a whole party in 1 hit. Which is fine in dark souls but not a command based game. Theres more but im out of characters. Bottom line: I regret buying this game and am deleting it

Best kind of humor coupled with great replayability. I don't usually care about achievements....but I feel I wanna 100% it. I don't see myself getting bored with it anytime soon. 👍👍👍❤👌👌💰🔥🐢

Buggy with data loss

The game has potential and even for a grinder it can start out addicting. This goes away quickly due to it being a poorly tested game. The first two bugs I encountered were just nuisances. But then I experienced a huge data loss. I saved and reloaded multiple times throughout 2 dungeons but when I shut off the Xbox and came back later... I don't think I'll be investing in The Bit Father games again.

Game deleted 3 dungeons and an hour worth of progress.

Used the correct save and quit option in the pause menu and came back to the game having deleted a chunk of my progress.
