A Masterpiece 🎮🎮🏆🏆

Resident evil 7 is worth the money. The flow of the game, the horror and it's story is amazing. The puzzles might be easy but that does not take time off the game. Coming from someone who didn't want to get it because of resident evil 6. I'm glad I looked away from it and was able to play this masterpiece.

Back to its roots through new eyes.

RE7 is back to what made me love the series in the beginning. Puzzles, intense frightening encounters, feeling helpless, item management struggles and great looking creepy environments, but puts it all in first person. It has definitely taken influences from other FP horror games to nail the vibe but this a classic RE game through and through. The later 3rd of the game is a lot more action heavy but i felt it eased you in to the action instead of balls to wall from the start. People are complaining about the length(average 10 hrs). My first time took me around 15 on normal. When every other game is a 100+hr open world game, it's easy to see why people would feel that way. Multiple endings, end game unlockables and the killer madhouse difficulty, it's well worth the purchase to me. If I wasn't on the edge of my seat screaming like a little girl, I was smiling from ear to ear. RE is back to its original form and scarier than ever.

Real Survival Horror is Back!

If you've missed actually being scared of a Resident Evil game for the last decade like I have, then RE7 will restore your faith back into the series. There are definitely elements and inspiration from the likes of P.T. and Outlast, but it still feels like its own game and it beautifully balances new departures while embracing old fans with its nostalgic undertones. Though many were early to criticize Capcom for leaving 3rd person perspectives behind, lets not forget that a lot of these fans also overly-praised 4 even with its overhaul of changes back then when they felt the formula was stale. Resident Evil was originally meant to be a first person game so it feels right to incorporate this now that they have the technology to make it happen. If you want the fast-paced shooter, this game is not for you. 2017 will be a year for Horror and Resident Evil 7 sets the bar very high. Thank you Capcom for this masterpiece. As a fan since the first installment, I Iook forward to the next!

Wonderful horror experience

RE 7 is a terrific yet brutal horror game. I've been longing for a fun and tense survival horror game, and RE 7 delivered. I'll admit I was skeptical about the game when I saw the teasers and played the demo. I just thought it looked like an Outlast clone and not a RE title. But after playing through the intro area, it really started to feel like a RE title. It reminds me very much of the original RE, and I even felt the same delight as I did playing RE 1 as a teen way back in the late 90's. I do have issues with some of the games mechanics, but that didn't deter my thurough enjoyment of the game. If you enjoy a horror thrill-ride and want to experience gripping tension and suspence, I highly recommend RE 7.

Survival Horror at it's best!

The new 1st person perspective is welcomed; it helps to immerse you in the game and make the controls feel smoother. The atmosphere is by far the best of the RE series. Turn off the lights and turn up the surround sound! It's also the creepiest and most violent RE game ever made. If you haven't played other RE games don't let the number 7 thing deter you because playing previous installments is far from necessary to enjoy this game. I highly recommend RE7 to any gamer who is a fan of horror. It delivers.

From A Diehard Resident Evil Fan...

Resident Evil 7 is a better game than 6 in every way (no obvious glitches and actually horror based), however it doesn't quite appear to have as much replay value as 4 or 5. That's not to say there is none, or no challenge though. After beating the game on easy I've decided to try out Madhouse difficulty mode. Let me tell you it's going to have you raging hard but feeling accomplished by the time you're done.

Buy this.

Let me elaborate. If you love: grotesque imagery with fantastic art design, horror games with tons of depth, a "quality over quantity" attitude, a way to fight back, and GOOD GAMES, buy this. As with any game, there are flaws, but the positives FAR outweigh the negatives. The whole demo and buildup to the game absolutely paid off. Definitely my personal favorite game this year so far, it really resonated with me. This and amnesia are the only two horror games I've ever enjoyed. Overall, the enemies lack variety, but I don't mind because it makes sense. There is one area I feel is unneeded, but other than that, welcome back, Resident Evil.

Best Resident Evil in years.

RE 7 is what the franchie has been missing for years. I thought the change of perspective and characters would be an issue but that couldn't be further from the truth. The only real issue I have is the lack of enemy variety, other than that the game is near perfection. 5 stars for me.

What the series NEEDS...

This is a serious change from Resident Evil 6. Instead of trying to do what they had been doing for the past 3 games they decided to take a different route. This is what the series needs. This series requires something new. It requires this new take on the survival horror genre. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, it is already taking the kid gloves off. Showing no mercy to the player every step of the way. In one sense, It doesn't even feel like a resident evil game. In another it does. And that is why I feel nothing but hope for this game and the oncoming future of resident evil. Bringing something new to the table is precisely what the story needs. It does not need to reinvent the wheel. It needs something new, and this game proves that.
