Why did Microsoft South Africa embark on an Equity Equivalent Investment Programme?
We are in the midst of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Technology is fundamentally changing how we live, learn and work. While it is recognised that emerging technologies present an opportunity to grow economies and address some of societies key socio-economic challenges, there is also a real fear that the world will become further divided.
Microsoft is making key investments in South Africa to ensure that we are accelerating the pace of digital transformation in the country and enabling every individual to benefit from the digital era.
The Equity Equivalent Investment Programme (EEIP) forms part of these investments into South Africa to help individuals, businesses, and Government successfully navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

With the launch of the Microsoft AgriTech Programme, and partnering with companies (AgriTechs) identified and appointed via our AgriChallenge, we aim to provide South African smallholder farmers with access to technology solutions to address key challenges they face and enable them to ultimately grow their businesses and compete.LEARN MORE
Microsoft will be providing experiential learning opportunities to South Africa's young software developers, making them more employable. Microsoft believes that by investing in ICT skills development, we can drive transformation in a meaningful and sustainable way.
