Microsoft in the Classroom was a fantastic experience for our students and staff. It exposed the students/staff to a number of educational tools that Microsoft has available for them. It was presented in such a way that it generated quite a buzz around our school that the staff and students are still talking about. I am excited to continue learning and investigating more of what Microsoft has to offer me as a classroom teacher.
We wish to highlight the work of James Gill, a grade 6/7 teacher at Summit Middle School in Coquitlam, British Columbia. James received a Surface RT when he was presenting at ISTE 2013 and he was so impressed with its capabilities that he now uses the RT in the classroom to support students with different needs. He is also leading weekly discussions at his school on SharePoint and OneNote. James has a desire to innovate in the classroom and to make contributions not only in the classroom but in areas of teacher professional development and systematic change in education.
